Post subject:  A quickish loss

This is a game where I lost somewhat quickly (move 44, 58 or 70 depending on how you see it).

What I am hoping to get is some feedback on the events that led there (like the manouver on moves 36-42), and advice on how I should arrived in the right conclusions.
Also, advice about reading is also appreciated. Frequently I read out variations, judging them as good, and at some point opponent plays something unexpected completely turning the line around.

Hi Tapani,

:w12: Re: your question. It's not only W's 4 stones; B also spent 2 moves there.

( :b19: - :w20: ), with :b21: as follow-up, seems bad.
( Just realized you were W; the above is for B. :) )

:w22: - :b25: This seems to help B.

:w26: - :b27: This seems to help B.

:w28: Do you have access to Leela's win rate for every move up to here ?

Yes, point taken. And D14 would probably kill one of the two stones.. if needed.

Yes, you are probably right. I debated that exchange. The pro were that my corner would be safe, the con that it strengthens black's area on the bottom. It becomes harder to invade and live there.
Before I did this exchange I considered both the invasion and the reduction, and thought reduction was the better (or at least safer) choice. And then I thought I could do the Q2/P2 exchange.

Yes. Leela starts at move 13-14, presumable until that point our game follows Kim Chwaki vs Hong Taeseon 1991.

Black's win rates are (for the first 40 moves):
Code:
13 52.88
14 51.49
15 54.34
16 51.92
17 51.95
18 51.04
19 52.47
20 52.02
21 52.14
22 48.6
23 48.73
24 49.42
25 49.65
26 42.65
27 47.45
28 46.72
29 54.28
30 52.09
31 55.29
32 52.08
33 52.28
34 50.17
35 57.19
36 59.93
37 59.69
38 59.64
39 59.01
40 59.0

Hi,

W28 seems really too close to b's strength.
Plus, there is no need, I feel, to be so concerned about what black is building here. If white plays D2 for instance, he has 15 points in the bottom left corner and 12 in the bottom right. That's already 27 points, which is more or less what black has in his bottom territory/moyo.
