I'm a terrible fighter/close contact players/tactical player for my overall level. So I want to improve on that. I also want to get in a good habit of reading and taking my time, instead of playing lazily.
So I want to play some 9x9 and 13x13 games to improve my tactical thinking, and also because it's easier to plan in your day :)

This is the first game of that attempt, where I actually use time to think. It was no easy game, I felt so much behind especially in the middle of the game, where I saw like no points for me.
(Move 22 was especially painful, followed by his 23)

I already analysed it with Leela, but I'd very much appreciate some additional insights from you. My main mistake tends to be slow moves in this 9x9 game. While Leela can tell me what moves aren't great, she gives no additional feedback. So I hope to learn more here!

I am white, Spoonsy, in this game.

:w36: is more tricky than that. If white atari at E5, and black connect, it's a good result :

[go]$$Bc Black can't block at a, because of the atari at b
$$ ---------------------
$$ | . . . . . . . . . |
$$ | . O . O X . . . . |
$$ | . X O O X X . . . |
$$ | X . X O 1 W b . . |
$$ | . X X O 2 X X . a |
$$ | . . X O X 3 X X 4 |
$$ | . . X O O X O O . |
$$ | . X O O . O X O . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . |
$$ ---------------------[/go]

[go]$$Bc If black fall back here
$$ ---------------------
$$ | . . . . . . . . . |
$$ | . O . O X . . . . |
$$ | . X O O X X . . . |
$$ | X . X O X O . . 2 |
$$ | . X X O O X X 1 . |
$$ | . . X O X X X X O |
$$ | . . X O O X O O . |
$$ | . X O O . O X O . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . |
$$ ---------------------[/go]

So the best continuation for black is probably

[go]$$Bc
$$ ---------------------
$$ | . . . . . . . . . |
$$ | . O . O X . . . . |
$$ | . X O O X X . 5 3 |
$$ | X . X O X O . 1 2 |
$$ | . X X O O X X . 4 |
$$ | . . X O X X X X O |
$$ | . . X O O X O O . |
$$ | . X O O . O X O . |
$$ | . . . . . . . . . |
$$ ---------------------[/go]

So, the best black can do is to tenuki :

$$ ---------------------
$$ | . . . d . . . . . |
$$ | a O . O X . . . . |
$$ | . X O O X X . . . |

$$ | . X X O 2 X X . . |
$$ | . . X O X . X X c |
$$ | . . X O O X O O . |
$$ | . X O O . O X O . |
$$ | . b . . . . . . . |
$$ ---------------------[/go]

Just a few remarks. About counting, I find it easier to count with area scoring. Depending on komi, white needs a bit more than 4 lines or everything up to a lesser diagonal, which is conveniently 36 pt each.

2kyu-feelings of a goquest-addict:

:w4: to the contrary. Leaving such a big space between your stones is highly adventurous. Certainly not shy.

:w10: you're molesting black's group at the wrong end. If he hanes there, he's hurting his other stone.

:w12: you got something wall-like in the middle, so split him and watch him squirm. It's very rare to win with three groups.
