I am going to visit the American Go Congress and I have booked from July 30 to August 8.
As I take the flight from Germany to Boston on the 28th of July I need two additional stays.
The organizers cannot give me my room before the 30th, which is a pity.
Can somebody give me friendly hints where to spend the two nights 28/29 and 29/30?

I heard that hotels will charge at least 148 $ per night. That's pretty expensive.

Cheers,
Rainer Rosenthal from Germany (7k)

You might want to consider AirBnB if you're looking for something cheaper than a hotel for those two evenings. Also being a university city I can't imagine there not being a large array of options with student friendly prices. A quick Googling came up with this interesting list - https://www.bu.edu/sth/admissions/visit ... modations/

Hope this helps!

Check out what is available on www.booking.com for accomodations in Boston. I just looked now and there were some listings for under $200 for two nights. Also you might find something on Airbnb,

Many thanks for all the suggestions!
Just coming home from watching TV in public - Portugal won soccer European Championship against France.
Great game, congrats!
Now it's time to go to sleep, but tomorrow I'll check those suggestions.

Cheers,
Rainer

Remember also that Boston is somewhat unusual among American cities in that multiple small, adjacent towns were never amalgamated into one city. So you don't have to stay in Boston, per se, to be close to the city, just as you don't have to stay on the Alexanderplatz to visit Berlin. Given the location you can expand your search to Allston, Brighton, Brookline, and other nearby towns in the Boston metro area. Just check public transportation (or parking, if you want to rent a car) to see whether the hotel/hostel/AirBnB location you're looking at fits with the activities you would like to do on those days.
