inaccurate counting prediction lead to "feeling enough" play
would surely lost without B's simple mistake
lost focus in the end game, nearly lost alot

Hi Ades,

:w12: E4.

:w14: not good.

:w18: not good. Just connect directly.

:w22: this shape can be cut.

:b25: Terible. B must cut.

:w28: K4 extend. Basic shape.

:b29: Good. "Hane head of 2 stones".
Good shape for B; bad shape for W. Very big.

:b31: K5 extend or K6 jump-attach.

:b43: P9. (Optional: peep P7 first.)

:w46: Bad habit. You force B to make eyes and good shape.

:b51: wrong direction. B wants up, not down.

:b57: Ridiculous. Cut, only move.

:w62: Wrong shape: H15 and K15 -- vital points. See elephant's eye .

:w64: bad. See toothpaste .

:w76: If B extends at E10, see toothpaste .

:w78: Your local shapes are completely wrong.
You can play like this if you have read out you can kill B.
Otherwise, you are just making terrible shapes for yourself.

See toothpaste .

See small gaps . (Example: W H15 )

Hi EdLee, im very grateful that you keep helping me

is G3 better?

Quote:
:b43: P9. (Optional: peep P7 first.)

would you mind to show me the right sequence/move here

Quote:
:w62: Wrong shape: H15 and K15 -- vital points. See elephant's eye .

i realize that was a mistake, but im bit confused about the link, it didn't tell me why it was a mistake moreover it tells me that the move can be good sometime
Quote:
:w64: bad. See toothpaste .
:w76: If B extends at E10, see toothpaste .

im sorry that i kept making you repeating to tell me about this
it seems like, i play ordinary move but suddenly that toothpaste come out from no where.
what can i do, or perhaps what i think i can do, is protecting bigger side since its impossible to protect both

did you mean, kill B? especially around this move, did you mind to show me a favorable sequence for W?

ah! can i ask you one more thing? it is the right rank for me to study pro games?

Instead of :b43: in the game, B can jump directly out, for example, to P9.

There are 2 separate issues here.

First is recognition that :w46: just helps B make eyes and good shape.

The second is to find a better move -- this is a separate issue.

I'm not sure what is the best local move.

Once again, there are 2 separate issues here:

- Recognition of the bad shapes.
- Finding a better move.

Your first job is recognition.
Finding a better move, or the "best" move, is an entirely different issue.

No need to say sorry.

This is your current level.

You WILL continue to make these bad shapes for some time.
For how long, we don't know yet; that depends on you. :)

As long as you make these bad shapes, hopefully, some people will point them out to you in your reviews.
It means you still have mis-understanding about them.

Both G3 and H4 can be CUT.

The first question is: can you find a move that CANNOT be CUT.

Hi Ades,

marakula game:

:b13: Maybe better to get out -- extend to o15.
This tiger's mouth -- P17 -- you are boxed in the corner.

:w14: Mis-understand basic shapes.
W must atari at o15. B connects at P16.
Then, W tiger's mouth N14, and B is completely boxed in the corner.

:b15: Wrong shape. Just extend to o15.

:w16: Atari o15.

:w22: just connect N15.

:b27: L16.

:b39: M18. Vital point to kill.

:b45: Not urgent. Look at your weak group at Q10.

:w50: Terrible. Broken shape for W. See small gaps .

:b53: You're hurting your other group at o8.
Maybe better to jump out directly, e.g. N8.

:b57: Basic shape problem. This shape is strange. N8.

OK, G4 cannot be cut. Maybe a bit slow. Other ideas: H5, or F7.

Hi Ades,

xohoho456 game.

:b5: Don't follow your opponent around like a puppy.
The lower left corner is empty -- why not take it.

:w6: The basic shape here is o16 -- o16 is the local shared vital point.

:b7: Mis-understand basic shapes. o16 is the shared vital point after :b5: .
W missed o16 -- you should take it.
Don't follow your opponent around like a puppy.

:b11: The joseki move is extend d15. Study this joseki.

Studying the joseki starting with d15 is worth this game.
