Hang in there, Joaz! :D

Three pages left to draw. Maybe the only motivation I really needed was to know I'd have another exciting project to look forward to when I was done...like the way I got a kitten when my previous dog was old so that I wouldn't have to be in the apartment alone when she died. XD I have to admit, I got a little teary-eyed when I did the rough sketch for the final page!

Anyway, probably won't have time to finish till next weekend.

I don't expect to put out the print version immediately. For one thing, I was thinking of drawing a couple of extras to go in it. (A shortish comic about Go etiquette for kids, for one thing.) And not going to do that right away, either.

In the meantime, I am thinking of putting a Paypal donation button on the page, now that I know I'm definitely going to finish. And/or maybe making a Café Press shop or something with Aji merch.(Not that I hear that's very profitable.) What do you think? Would you be interested in ordering Aji's Quest t-shirts or coffee mugs?

I am pleased that Aji translations are going on in German and Dutch, and I have recently given permission for a webcomic version in Polish. That makes Aji's Quest the most-translated thing I've ever done...

You have to ask?

I would be likely to buy an Aji shirt. Of course.

I promise that although I might be the first to say so, I won't be last.

I recently watched "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and sometimes it made me think of Aji's quest. Sort of an absurd journey with mountains and guards and monsters and dangers. I like the humor in both a lot..

Well...it's been almost two years since I started drawing Aji's Quest...

And now it's done. Pages 166-180 are up now!

Hope you have enjoyed this journey as much as I have!

But it's a fantasy quest, right? Isn't there a rule somewhere that says it's got to be at least a trilogy? So volume II...? :D

Thanks for sharing your creation. The comic was a very enjoyable read! (And it's nice to read a webcomic that actually ends every once in a while. :-) )

Thanks, all! :D

The possibility of a sequel exists, ez4u, but don't hold your breath: I have several other projects that need my attention now!

Thank you, Inkwolf.

I loved your web-comic. Like others, I am sad to see it end. But I am also proud of you for ending it well. So many good ideas just seem to fade away.

I look forward to your next venture, whatever it is. Please keep us updated and linked, even though it isn't go related.

Best of luck!

It's not only that. Just today I received an email from a 10 year old girl here in Germany who was able to enjoy Aji in the German version "Ajis Weg":
Quote:
Bis jetzt war Ajis Weg das interessanteste Buch ueber Go.
Ich finde am interessantesten den Meister Tenuki, weil er so geheimnisvoll und klug ist.
(For me, "Aji's Quest" was the most interesting book about Go. The most interesting character is Master Tenuki, because he is so mysterious and wise.)

It was a great pleasure for me to translate the first chapters into German.
Unfortunately I became unfocussed and lazy. So there is still the same on my homepage as one year ago.
As everything ends (see e.g. Volume I of Aji's Quest), so maybe my phase of lazyness will do so, too :-)

Thank you very, very much, dear Colette. I did not open the newest and final(?) pictures. I'll be brave and do so tomorrow. *sigh*

Cheers,
Rainer

I almost couldn't get myself to "Like" your final announcement post since it signaled the end. But there was no way I was going to get away with that idea!

Thanks so much for sharing Aji with us!

I have to admit that I was relieved to have it end, just because now it's certain that Aji won't be abandoned, never reaching the top. The story was really great, and it provided a good window into the subjective experience of life as a passionate but unseasoned kyu player. I'm certainly up for buying a print edition, and I just sent you a donation to say thanks for all the work that went into this.
