The Killer Feature is Correspondence Go? Shame.

Don't know what's a shame about it. Not only is Kaya the *only* server where you can play both correspondence go as well as regular timed games, but it's also quite elegantly implemented.

Kaya allows correspondence go?

That's pretty nice.

I'll have to try that.

Can games be played live with no change in the time limits if the two players happen to be online at the same time? That would be great.

Pretty much - the games run on fischer time, so if both players are online the default setting is that each move adds a day, up to a limit of 7 days, so if you want, you can set up a correspondence game and treat it as a regular game with no time limits, and either player can adjourn it at any time.

Perfect. I'll start one of those. Let's see if I find an opponent.

I just put up an offer for Malkovich on Kaya as a correspondence game just to test the interface out. See viewtopic.php?f=37&t=142&p=122678#p122678

I did find it funny that the 'killer feature' is something that two other major servers (OGS and DGS) have done for many years very well and you can even add in many other sites that do this. It is a nice feature though. I'll be sticking to DGS, since I like anDGS.

I think 'killer feature' should be reserved for something that not everyone else is already doing.

The Killer Feature will be shogi.

KGS allows correspondence Go as well, but in a limited sense. (Only through no time limit games.)

I must stay, I'll stick to the correspondence servers for correspondence play. :)
I'd like a server that let you play in historical mode: sunjang or tibetan

It's "killer" because conan and dp are going to focus a lot on it in the future, and count on it to bring many new regular players to kaya.
Also the whole "only server doing live and correspondence" thing.

I played a lot of Arimaa this past winter and spring, and I loved the fact that the main server is both a correspondence and real-time server. Perhaps that matters more when the community is small, but I think it makes people a bit more engaged.

I have played a couple so far. The natural segue between playing real-time and over the course of days has been really nice for me.
