I am desperately trying to end my activity on online-go.com.

I was a loyal OGS user before the merge and I feel that I have given the new site a fair chance - enough to make the informed decision to leave. Originally, I only wanted to resign from tournaments and unsubscribe from the ladders to prevent new games from starting. The issues raised while trying to do so have reinforced my decision to leave and also caused the loss of all outstanding games.

I am still subscribed to the Honinbo Main Title Tournament 2013 and cannot, despite every effort, leave the tournament. I have finished all my games from the first round and have no games currently underway but when I click the resign-from-tournament button, nothing happens. (It says I have resigned but refreshing the page shows I am still subscribed.)

I have created a thread on the forums on the site and received no response so I am cross-posting here and hoping someone will help me.

The most likely way to contact the site-admins is to use the online-chat on OGS. As those two (anoek and matbert) are in the US, try logging in during "normal" daytime (in one of the US-timezones) and you should be able to see them in the main chat-room.
If you write their names in your chat-comment like "anoek, matburt: I want to ..." they see that highlighted for them and should be able to assist you.

The forums are more for discussion, it's less of a support-system. For this OGS uses an issue-tracker (Jira), which you can write a new ticket when you look in the "Help"-menu (from the top-bar) and use the "Report feedback &..." link. This creates a ticket in the issue-tracker. They are prioritizing them, but as they have over 300 open issues (bugs/improvements/questions) alike there, it is no guarantee, that your ticket gets precedence.

So the recommended way is still trying to reach them via the online-chat.

If you want to leave the site completely, I don't see the problem. Remove it from your bookmarks and never think of it again.

It's more polite and appropriate to discontinue participation in the tournaments and ladders to avoid creating challenges and games lost by timeout. I take it that's the OP's concern.

At least it says now on the honinbo main tournament 2013 page, that you retired.

It seems like that your message reached the correct people. The non-login-issue is very strange, though.

Search for your username in the Tournament page (http://online-go.com/tournaments/2477/- ... ent%202013). It shows your results of the last round and the remark that you retired.

Tournaments will still show up on your profile page while the tournament is active, even if you've resigned or been disqualified from the tournament.

Source:
Check the people who have been disqualified or have resigned from this tournament: http://online-go.com/tournaments/35/-/I ... ce%20Swiss

This may have been the source of confusion all along.
