This is a bit of a stretch, but factoring 2023 into primes gives 2023 = 7 x 17 x 17. The current standard go board size is 19x19. But it appears that earlier boards were 17x17, though unfortunately it seems that no game records from that time have survived. So we might say that 2023 is "the year of seven ancient go boards" (or ancient go games, if you like). On a tangent: Has anyone tried to apply the modern AI techniques to 17x17 boards? I am curious if the resulting games are very different from those on a 19x19 board. (For that matter, it would be interesting to see the difference group tax would make as well, since the tax may have also been used in the ancient games.)
