I spent a lot when I was starting, and only made one other purchase now and then. Now I mostly go through the books again, or go through books I haven't touched yet. I still haven't finished Cho Chikun's L+D and Tesuji, or Making Good Shape.

I think my next big go expenditure will be JF's series of books.

My wife is also limiting mainly the time I spend on go. I havent been on a tournament ever since our son was born. No problems concerning monetary expenses, probably because Im the stingy one in our marriage.

My wife doesn't seem to care one way or another. She knows I'm over careful with money. I do tend to buy expensive stuff when I do buy something, but its very rare I have to re-buy/upgrade anything that isn't computery based. I also don't buy that much that is computery based... just computers and cameras. So, most things in life I just buy one time :)

So, no, my wife doesn't try to control my Go purchases. Although, when I first got my Go set the cost was brought up a few times in random conversations
