Hello All

Prior to its release date on Sept. 10, we are looking for some reviewers of our new book, "Winning Go" from Tuttle Publishing. We offer a free book in return for a short review in Amazon, B&N or the AGA e-journal.

It's a go problem book with 255 large pages and 203 problems. Richard wrote the problems and commentaries, while I served as text editor. He said it's the godsend he wishes was around when he was aspiring to be 1-dan or better. It is totally unique because it the first problem book to cover every part of the game—what is important to look for, what is important to do and what is important not to do at each stage of the game. This way, players will be able to see where they are strong and where they are weak, with suggestions for appropriate books for further study.

We are looking for players of perhaps 7-kyu and stronger who would like to improve their game. It’s not necessary to do all the problems—that would take some time! The idea would be rather to browse a bit and give a general opinion as to its worthiness.

Thank you,
Peter Shotwell

That's odd. I was able to buy a copy from Amazon.ca last month (August), well before your official release date. (Note that is .ca, not .com. They are temporarily out of stock at the moment.)

Hmm... the site says it was available as of August 10th. Perhaps they released their stock one month early by mistake.

Anyways, I am not anywhere near dan level, so I can't offer any useful review. The diagrams are a bit small, but that's more a problem of my poor eyesight. Otherwise, though, it seems like a nice collection of problems, covering all stages of the game. And at the price, I'd say it is well worth getting.

And me. I'm currently aiming for the 1-dan Richard is talking about. I may be able to put the review in the BGA journal as well, as I think they're looking for content at the moment.

At 6k and still hoping to improve, I'm close to your target audience, and as someone who enjoys tsumego, it sounds like a book that I'd be interested in buying. I have read and immensely enjoyed both your Go! More That a Game and Richard's The Second Book of Go, and I would love see the results of your collaboration.

I'm a 5k, and this kind of book is exactly what I'm looking for. I would be glad to do a comprehensive review if you still need people. PM is sent

Peter,

Would it be possible for you to have this book also offered in the Kindle version through Amazon? If so, I would most likely purchase it. I am in the process of going digital in all my new book purchases. After having enjoyed the convenience of ebooks I am really hard pressed to buy physical books.

Thanks,

Tiburon

Hi Tiburon,
No plans yet for an e-version but we're working on it. Thanks for inquiring.
Best,
Peter
