The Official Announcement: Registration is now open for the 38th annual U.S. Go Congress, which will be held July 30 - August 7 at the YMCA camp near Estes Park, CO. Click here to register: https://www.gocongress.org/2022/sign_ups/sign_up. The main playing site is Assembly Hall in the center of camp, which is surrounded by many indoor and outdoor amenities, plus the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. “It’s the perfect setting for both players and non-players alike, an ideal vacation destination for the whole family!” says Congress organizers.  The camp is just outside Estes Park, and under two hours from Denver International Airport (DIA). You can sign up for the airport shuttle during registration, or rent a car at the airport. The Congress has plenty of rooms reserved on-site, or you can choose from many off-site locations (but act soon as summer fills up quickly). During registration, you can sign up for lodging and meal plans, the banquet, and the day-off activities. “There are official tours to please almost everyone, from open-air trollies servicing Rocky Mountain National Park, ghost tours at the historic Stanley Hotel, cable-car rides to the top of Prospect mountain, and horseback riding,” says Congress Co-Director Eric Wainwright. “If any of these don’t fit the bill, there’s an abundance of informal tours and other activities as well.” “We hope to make this the best congress yet!” Safety Announcement: The AGA Board and congress directors believe that a safe congress can be held with the proper precautions. With close to 80% of Americans immune to Omicron through either vaccination or infection (AP News), this summer should be a good time to resume in-person Congresses. Registration for the 2022 Go Congress is proceeding briskly with over 170 attendees so far,” reports Co-Director Eric Wainwright. “Rooms in the Main Lodge are almost filled up, but there’s still plenty of rooms left in the East Lodges. If you’re thinking about staying at one of the many offsite locations around Estes Park, now’s the time to make your arrangements. The main playing site is Assembly Hall situated in the center of the YMCA campus. Built in 2009, it’s a modern facility with over eleven thousand square feet of space for tables to be spread out. Lectures, game reviews, and other events will take place in other buildings and cabins scattered nearby.  “It looks like we’ll have sizable group of young players this year, as many pros and teachers are bringing their students,” reports Wainwright, “It’s a good thing that our Youth Room will be the size of a basketball court. It seems costs are virtually the same as when it was set to take place in 2020. (https://lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.php?p=247581#p247581) Colorado is great and I encourage everyone who has never been to go. The altitude is no joke, though. Drink a ton of water. |

Doh, didn't realize that space was filling up so quickly - Main Lodge rooms are already taken. I just registered and reserved a spot in one of the East Lodges. See everybody there! |
