6. Competition Date and Venue: December 14-20, 2023, at the 1990 Cultural Hall in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
7. Competition Event: Individual competition.
8. Eligibility:
(i) Each member country or region of the International Go Federation appoints one amateur player to participate;
(ii) Professional players certified by national or federation go organizations (including EGF and NAGF) are not eligible to participate in this championship;
(iii) Former professional players (e.g., those who have retired) cannot participate in this championship;
(iv) Players approved or certified as professional before the registration deadline cannot participate in this championship.
9. Registration: Please send the scanned copy of the registration form and identity documents to the email address: cwainternational@foxmail.com.
10. Competition Method:
(i) The competition will use the rules of the International Go Federation, with black giving a 6.5 point komi;
(ii) Each player’s time limit is 60 minutes basic time plus 3 times 30 seconds byo-yomi, with the third time being the last, and exceeding this time will result in a loss. Byo-yomi will be counted using a voice timer, operated by the players themselves;
(iii) The competition will use a point system arrangement, with the number of rounds determined by the number of participants;
(iv) In case of rare occurrences such as triple ko, the game will be treated as no result. Both players will immediately replay the game, with the same time settings as the original game, and the time of the replay will continue from the remaining time of the original game.
11. Scoring Method:
(i) 2 points for each win, with higher points placing higher in rank;
(ii) Compare the total points of opponents, with the higher total placing higher in rank;
(iii) If points and total opponent points are equal, a tie is allowed if it does not affect the ranking. If it does, remove the first round opponent’s points and compare the remaining total; the higher total places higher in rank. If still equal, then remove the second round, third round, etc., for comparison;
(iv) Compare head-to-head wins (only for two players);
(v) Drawing lots.
12. Awards:
(i) The top ten players will receive trophies and certificates of honor;

(ii) Players are strictly forbidden from bringing mobile phones or other electronic devices into the competition area, and if found, the player will be deemed to have lost that game;
(iii) Valid identification must be worn to enter the venue and must not be transferred without authorization;
(iv) Anti-doping checks: The top 3 players and 1-2 randomly selected players will undergo anti-doping checks.
14. Other matters not covered by the competition will be notified separately.
