3k vs. 4k

Post by billywoods »

Hello all,

I took black in this game as a wobbly 4k. I won, but wasn't particularly satisfied with a few aspects of it:
  • I built up some lovely thickness up to move 17, but never used it.
  • White misread some stuff (moves 25 onwards) and ended up with a weak group. Actually, the group was kind of weak anyway. But my attachment at 25 ended up with white taking huge chunks out of the lower right. If the stones I'm attacking are going to live anyway, it feels awful to give up the side and corner to attack them. I profited enough to win, but only through a few mistakes on white's part, I think. Could I have done this better?
  • Was my attack (47 through 67) good?
  • Could I have attacked the upper left better after this?
  • Any and all other comments appreciated!

In which I almost answer a couple of those questions really obliquely:
