You have to have confidence. If while playing this game I slip into the attitude of, "Oh he's really good at embarrassing people weaker than him; I better play it extra safe," I've already lost. That's why in my game against lovelove I often quoted Rainbow Dash or various other characters from shows or games I've watched/played - besides just being fun, it also puts me in a positive and confident mood as I play my move.
This attitude is pretty well summed up by STAR_, my favorite Team Fortress 2 commentator, in the first half of
this video .
So, right here, I am declaring that I am expecting to win this game. Whether I actually do is another question, but I don't intend to play like he's stronger than me. He'll have to prove that he is.

If he had played 3-4 or some other asymmetric corner move, I might've as well, in order to make miai of the two points. Here though, if I play something asymmetric, he would have a sort of
tedomari play by approaching my assymetric stone. That's how I tend to think of two-stone handicap openings, though I've never actually had this thinking verified as sound by a stronger player.

This is a fun game already.
His move seems like the type of move you play to make the game confusing. I thought about various places to play on the bottom, but I wasn't really satisfied with any of them. So I decided to take this point instead. If it was his turn instead of mine,
would be a key place he would like to play, as it functions as both an extension from his top-right stone and as a move that forms a large framework. So by playing it myself I pincer his stone and limit the development of his framework. Also, with this move in play, various moves along the bottom side of the board start to look more attractive.
