Slipping to Shodan-

Post by SumaW »

Hello, guys! I'm Suma, and I want to work my way to Shodan within a year. I play 14k IGS, 12k KGS, and 13k WBaduk.

Study Plan:

30 problems on Monday (L&D)
15 problems Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. (Tesuji)
Practice Joseki and Fuseki for 30 minutes- Friday.
5 games a week. (Try for 1 on KGS, 3 on IGS, 1 on WBaduk, every other weekend 10 KGS).
This may not be so consistent, as I have school.

How refreshing to met a young person who is not aiming for professional in two years!
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Just played a KGS game, will break the rules for this week and as I have a computer right now, play a bunch of KGS. This game brought me down to 14k?
Completely misread in upper left, all of it died, and failed to beat the bottom right, so resigned as I would've lost anyway.

If you're splitting tsumego by day, why not do tesuji instead of 100% life and death?

Just joined Tygem, will play same times as KGS. My next game will be after my first Tygem game! Feel free to leave comments and tips on any game! Farewell!

EDIT: I LIED! KGS comes first, as I can't get a good game on Tygem.

120 moves in 10 min. That is not enough time spent thinking.

I wanted a quick game, I suppose.

It is wasting everyone's time posting games in which anyone who responds with suggestions has to spend more time responding than you spent thinking.

At least have the courtesy to spend more time thinking than what will be required by anyone responding.

A reason I played fast and replied slow is I had something I had to do quickly, but I wanted some practice, then some suggestions.

Please stop making excuses and re-read what others wrote.
You can practice all the blitz you want,
and you did get your suggestions: see the notes in the SGF, and re-read what DrStraw wrote.

Please stop wasting people's time. If you want to play blitz, play all you want, but don't ask for comments.

At your level, I recommend you just play, play, and play. Play tons of games. Play 100 games.
What you need the most now is experience.

Honestly, I don't want this stuff on a study thing. I just had to take a few pieces of trash (A loveseat and some garbage) so please don't comment this. And back to the topic, I suppose I do need some experience as I haven't played much in a while. I need to get on track.
