Wanna analyze my game?

Post by Joelnelsonb »

So I just finished this game on OGS and I feel like its one of the better games I've played yet in terms of Go theory (opening, proper moyo, reading the whole board). I just wondered if any of you more experienced players wanna add some insight. I realize I still made plenty of mistakes but that's quite common in 20+ kyu games so go easy. Thanks!

You'll need an OGS account to view the game but its easy to make. Also, I played white.
Thinking like a go player during a game of chess is like bringing a knife to a gun-fight. Thinking like a chess player during a game of go feels like getting knifed while you're holding a gun...

:b27: What about the corners? The 3-3 invasion in each of White's two corners is actually a tricky life-and-death problem. But consolidating in the centre is (a) smaller, and (b) possibly an negative if you want to invade later.

:w36: Would be more logical to close the lower left corner, which is more open.

:b73: This is larger than many of the previous plays, which were small. The endgame on the edge is bigger. The lower left beckons, though. See http://senseis.xmp.net/?AllAbout33Point ... 2FDiagrams, the "ogeima ogeima". I thought that was called the "dragonfly".

White 104: Both players should study endgame tactics! White should win now.
