League game - share your analysis and comments

Post by emerus »

This was from an experiment we are trying for our regulars. A way to get structured (serious) matches in more often.

The game is between two mid-dan players that could have gone either way. In the middle game fight, it felt like a minute error from either side could spoil everything.

Please share anything that comes to mind to help both sides out.

I don't much like e3 given the game continuation, how about directly j5? I also wonder about f4 and crosscut, it helps black to settle but makes d11 look good and pretty much connects j3. But worse is d6 I think, it helps black too much if you can't answer on the left. How about j7, black c7 might be too much as d6 and cut is crude but could be effective with d11. So d5 and c3 is black's continuation? I also wonder if l13 could have killed with preparation at o10.
