Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Zen is also playing an event against the top Chinese amateurs on Tygem: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4942997820.
Thursday, 19th: TangCHZHe, LuNing, MaTianFa
Friday, 20th:LiuTH, ZHaoYan, BaiBaoXi
Saturday, 21st: WangCHen, SuGuYue, HuYuQing
Today it lost to TangCHZHe, it made the well-known cut that doesn't work in the micro Chinese and then some lingering ko aji in the corner probably confused it. It then beat Lu Ning on time and Ma Tian Feng (one of the top amateurs with several decent pro scalps to his name) by resign.

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
The game record and some discussion (in Chinese) for Zen vs Tang Chongzhe (7d, the winner of Wanbao Cup last year) can be found in the following post:
http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4946729450
[Edit]
Actually Tang is the winner of 700 Internet Wanbao Cup rather than the traditional Wanbao Cup

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Thanks for the link gamesorry. Are you sure Tang won the Wenbao cup last year? I checked go4go and found http://www.go4go.net/go/games/sgfview/52288 with info:
P.S. Zen won all 3 today.
I updated http://senseis.xmp.net/?WanbaoCup with the info I could find on go4go, any corrections or gaps filled in appreciated.[2016-01-11] 29th Chinese Wanbao Cup Amateur, final
Black: Wang Chen 7d
White: Bai Baoxiang 8d
Result: W+2.5 (7.5 komi)
P.S. Zen won all 3 today.

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Oops, I confused the 700 Internet Wanbao Cup (http://www.eweiqi.com/portal.php?mod=view&aid=26841) with the traditional Wanbao Cup, which has been won by Bai Baoxiang for two consecutive yearsUberdude wrote:Are you sure Tang won the Wenbao cup last year?
I just updated it according to the Chinese wiki page of Wanbao Cup: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%99%9A ... 5%E6%9D%AF . I'll create an English wiki page for it laterUberdude wrote: I updated http://senseis.xmp.net/?WanbaoCup with the info I could find on go4go, any corrections or gaps filled in appreciated.

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Are you sure Bai won it this year? Although it doesn't mark Ma - Wang as the final (as it has in some previous years) Go4go shows him losing twice on earlier days than others and it looks plausibly like a double elimination event given who wins and when. http://www.go4go.net/go/games/tournament/30

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Yes, the final ranking and scores can be found here: https://m.sohu.com/n/478468875/?_trans_=000115_3w
The top 4 players (Bai, Wang, Hu and Ma, the four amateur 'kings') all scored 22 points (presumably losing 2 games), but Bai was lucky to win the tournament by having the highest SOS among them.

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Ah, so it's presumably some kind of Swiss system and go4go just has a subset of the games. That looks like a change from previous years going by the go4go game descriptions of 'final', '3rd 4th place play off' etc.

Re: DEEPZEN games from Tygem?
Oh yes, after some googling I confirmed that the format this year is changed back to the original Swiss-like format (no grouping/playoffs) used more than 10 years ago.Uberdude wrote:Ah, so it's presumably some kind of Swiss system and go4go just has a subset of the games.
