I will be working in Tokyo near Yoyogi park for the next 5 weeks. Would really like to find somewhere to play. Googling I can only find posts from stronger (1-9 kyu) western players. Any advice on where I can easily find other people closer to my rank. I don't mind playing handicap games but don't want to bore stronger players.

How about contacting the Nihon Kiin? They hold classes for all levels of players and even if you don't take a class, there will be a lot of players at your level after the class.

It is doubtful you can find anyone to play with at your level except at the Nihon kiin. They have times everyday for people who are lower than 6k who know the rules of the game (beginner).
