He'll play against the winner and the runner-up AI of 10th UEC cup, this is the 5th and the last Densei-sen competition, also the first time to play in even term. He vs. runner-up program will have 30 minutes maintime and 30 seconds byoyomi, while the match against winner program will have 1 hour maintime and 1 minute byoyomi. Both matches will be in Japanese rule.
March 26, 2017 (Sunday), in Japan timezone, first match (runner-up AI) start at 10:30 while the second match (winner AI) start at 14:30. The UEC cup is 18-19 March.

Quite a lot of new names in the competitors this year, does anyone know more about them? There are supposedly several pro level Chinese-made bots now, such as Xing Tian (see viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13921), are any of the entrants this one under another name. Also I note one by Tencent which is a big Chinese tech company so they ought to have the resources to make something strong.

The timing is interesting: the new 'World Go Championship' (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=13827) with Iyama/Mi/Park/DeepZen is 21st-24th March between the UEC cup and this Ichiriki match. A good time for computer Go fans! (and another AlphaGo match sometime too?).

Well, let's look if CrazyStone by Remi Coulom can comeback to the front scene, he has new assistant Fabien Letouzey
And there's very wild rumor/guess from Chinese webboard that no.8 of entrant
Kaminoitte / 神乎碁技
is GodMoves
I use Google translate and it said
Kaminoitte / God by Acer Technology
Very old program Many Faces of Go by David Fotland, he said on mailing-list that he expect his program to reach professional level
Dolbaram is south korean 5d MCTS bot but get government support to turn into deep learning ai, let's see the result
Two strong AI in fox server, Xing Tian and Jueyi might be in competition in different name, I don't know (for now)

JueYi (FineArt) is an undisputed winner, winning every match with ease, all commentators have the same opinion 'too strong' (Developer said this version is even stronger than version that play in Fox Go server). DeepZenGo is runner-up, winning every match excluding JueYi (FineArt).

You can watch live with English commentators from Michael Redmond and Antti Tormanen, detail here http://entcog.c.ooco.jp/entcog/densei/d ... watch.html

I just wish Chinese could release their AI so that anyone could download it.
Also would be cool if deepmind could do the same.
They wouldn't lose anything and go world would gain so much.

But they've to wait for all go organizations around the world implement anti-cheat program in tournament first, (and on online go server as well). KBA play the first step by banning phone, and in the future, bathroom too.

Seeing as DeepZen beat Iyama, maybe I should change my vote to both AIs win (was just winner win)...

Zen won rather comfortably. Displayed good positional judgement in going for simplifying trades and thus avoided the sort of complex infighting Ichiriki excels at (and I thought was his best chance of winning). Zen attacked well in the final fighting though to force the resign.

Zen's game was quite enjoyable, I thought. In the end, it attacked one group to gain strength to attack a second, to gain strength to attack a third, to gain strength to kill a fourth...

Ichiriki eventually managed to kill a fairly large group, but as the surrounding stones were cut FineArt snipped of a tail and consolidated the rest of the board into territory and won (plus had semedori). Maybe bottom right shimari was too slow, the outside attachment ended up so effective. I expect if it were a 4-4 (so adding move seen as less important) then white would have started actions on the left side moyo (say a pincer). Humans also seem content with defending the bottom left corner at 2-4 but bots seem to think it's slow and I'm minded to agree seeing how this game went. This "you kill them but get squeezed so much you loose" result seems to happen a lot with bots, probably because they don't get sad from being killed. (Humans do sometimes manage it too of course, e.g. http://gobase.org/replay/?gam=/games/ja ... f&off=null)

First time I looked at this game I thought black destroyed white but only now I noticed white actually killed that large black group. This makes it even more amazing because black still won.

I can't imagine a player who would sacrifice so much and still win.

It does happen, for example that Sakata game at gobase I linked the wall he sacrifices (to get thickness in sente and kill a bigger group) is only a little smaller than FineArt's (11 stones and not as many dame). Or there was this game from Lee Sedol vs Kong Jie in which Lee blundered (rather than sacrificed) and a (larger than FineArt's) group died with little compensation, but he played on like a man possessed and engineered an amazing kill and comeback to win from what was probably 50+ points behind!
Or there was that famous game from Luo Xihe vs Choi Cheolhan in which Luo gave up a triple ko and let a huge group die but won after the exchange. Mr Go Commentary did a video on it: http://www.gocommentary.com/free-videos ... olhan.html
Or of course the even more famous old 'killing gane' from Shusai and Karigane. Shusai killed and won that game but iirc had Karigane played better on the outside it could have been a masterful sacrifice rather similar to the FineArt game. dhu posted a Chinese review here.
