I've been taken to the slaughterhouse in this 11 kyu vs 10 kyu game.

I've gone over it with Leela and I know where it went wrong, but it's not always easy to get concrete/understandable feedback from Leela, so I thought of posting it here, too, and sent it to my Sensei.
Because it's the games you lose, that you probably learn most from.

My take on the game:

- Weird opening from black. In the end, I think after the opening it's about even, I could've done better, but it's okay.
- Middle game is confusing, hard to know where to play. Odd board position, I think. So I decide to attack anything I can, because why not?
- I have some success with one group, and I also manage to make a group of mine live on the bottom, all good so far.
- I get under attack myself and here somewhere it goes horribly wrong. Oh I know the move and I guess the biggest vice was laziness (or being tired*), because I acted without reading and it turned out horribly. (move 158, I think I'm okay if I play F13)

Anyway, I think there's plenty to learn from this game (even from the part I think I did well - I'm a 10 kyu after all, so I'm probably doing everything wrong  ) and so once more I'd appreciate any criticism. Even though it's almost impossible for me to process every piece of criticism I get, I do take away a lot from these discussions here on L19, really thankful for that! So don't hold back! What moves should be history if I want to be a true SDK (and why)?

* This is the 8th game I play today, so it's no excuse but understandable, I think. Played online this morning and than 6 games against a bot. It was blitz, but it was still 6 games.

What does LZ think about these ?

:b27: .. :b33:

:w34: .. :w38: wasting ko threats.

:w40:

:w42:

:w48: What does LZ think about this direction ?

(Leela 11)

:w24:

Actually fairly neutral, a minor loss. But I see this is a bad move.

:w26:

A drop in win percentage here, about 3%. It wanted to play a bit higher and a bit closer.

:b27: .. :b33:

These exhanges seem to favour white, although I had a hard time seeing that during the game. I saw influence for black and me blocked in almost.

:w34: .. :w38: wasting ko threats.

Yep. In my defense, I read it wrong and thought I could kill the corner.

:w40:

Bad reading, thought I needed to defend. Or rather, I was a bit distressed and I couldn't think clearly. I tried to read if black could cut me there but I was unable to, so defended.

:w42:

It says R14 immediately.

:w48: What does LZ think about this direction ?

Win % drops from 75% to 65% immediately. She wants S15.

:w54:

A drop from 75 (again) to like 70. Not the worst move, but still S15 is there.

Get rid of this if you want to advance! Nothing is more important. If you cannot read the cut (or life and death or whatever), you must play elsewhere and let your opponent give you a lesson on fighting (life and death, etc.). :rambo:

That's my choice for :w26:, as well. :)

What your opponent has got before your move :w24: is the Straight J group and it should be locally a ko. That doesnt mean you should play that immediately, but after exchanging 24-25, he is alive. Thats why this exchange is pretty bad. I'm surprised you said leela doesnt think it's bad.

Leela is not very good at life and death.
