I'll be playing the 2nd game of the British championship title match against Sam Aitken this Saturday 13th October. The game will be broadcast on KGS by BGAAdmin starting at 10:30 GMT+1, with text commentary by Matthew Macfadyen 6d. It's best of 3 and I won the first game, you can find that at http://www.britgo.org/bchamp/. Time limits are a leisurely 3 hours each with 10 moves in 10 minutes overtime, and I've not yet decided if I'll do these silly AI 3-3 invasions ;-) .

Also from 11th - 14th the German championship will be broadcast on Twitch, so if you get bored by our slow play then you can watch that too, see https://www.reddit.com/r/baduk/comments ... 114_to_be/.

Is there a reason why neither event is mentioned in the KGS MOTD?

Presumably that needed several people to do things, and at least one of them didn't do it.

Oh thank goodness your opponent isn’t named Andrew again.

Good luck!

Good luck. I probably won't watch you live, because I'll be playing at the Cotsen this weekend, but I'll definitely check out the game record.

Looking forward to your victory!

I looked at your first game. I felt pretty good about white throughout, except that the sequence starting around 65 seemed painful.

You made it work, though!

Yeah, I lost. Not happy with my game: played too many moves I pretty much knew were bad but too irrational or lazy to do something better. Again some particular stupidity just after lunch: maybe I should just take a half hour nap instead of thinking rubbish to allow the blood to return from my stomach to my brain.

The curse of well-wishers...

It was a good game for the spectators though. I thought you probably had a good opportunity after Sam's flakey looking w140. Perhaps the following fighting could have gone better for you here ? (irritating vague comment).

I sometimes play bad but fun moves, and it's partly for me and partly for the spectators. Maybe I should try to win instead of showboating.

Yes, 140 was bad and 142 worse seeing as I can live locally anyway (makes e6 attachment I was aiming at even easier to play, Sam said he only consider jump for me) and I had the feeling I was getting back into the game around here and Elf/LZ agree. When he tenukid o3 (I expected m5/l4/n3 answer) I correctly identified this as my chance to take the lead with the invasion but then spent his time thinking about other things instead of n3 at j5 which saves my stones so essentially game over.

I share your pain in losing. Good luck on the 3rd game. If you win that, the loss from game 2 will be forgotten - or at least less painful.

Bumping this dead post to mention that Uberdude is in the final again tomorrow.

His opponent is another Andrew again this time.

There will be a relay and a commentary on kgs from 10:30 gmt tomorrow (Saturday).

This clash lead me to think about Britain's strongest Michael. Its a very tight contest, as there are three of us clustered at 2k currently. I take pride that I have played both of the others and am undefeated in Michael vs Michael matches though.

P.S don't forget Michael Webster.

Sad to report that the game was won by Andrew not Andrew. And we didn't see any silly AI 3-3 invasions. It was an exciting game to watch, ultimately with lots of dead stones of both colours. Thanks for the announcement here, and please let us know when game 2 is on.

Game record at http://www.gokgs.com/gameArchives.jsp?user=bgaadmin

Can I embed the SGF from the KGS web site directly into the game viewer here? I'm not sure if that will work, but let's try:
