There will be 30 players participating. The champion and runner-up from 4 years ago will automatically advance to the second round.

China: Tang Weixing (defending champion), Ke Jie, Gu Zihao, Mi Yuting, Fang Tingyu, Jiang Weijie, Yang Dingxin, Xie Erhao, Xie Ke, Tao Xinran, Zhao Chenyu, Dang Yifei
Korea: Park Junghwan (runner-up), Shin Jinseo, Shin Minjun, Byun Sangil, Kim Jiseok, Lee Donghoon, An Sungjoon
Japan: Iyama Yuta, Ichiriki Ryo, Shibano Toramaru, Hsu Chiayuan, Kono Rin, Murakawa Daisuke
Taiwan: Xu Haohong, Lin Lixiang, Li Wei
US: Ryan Li
Israel: Ali Jabarin

A prestigious tournament where each country and region are basically sending out their best players.

The draw will happen on 09/07, and no re-draw after (unlike most other tournaments where they will draw after each round to avoid players of the same country from playing each other as much as possible), Given there is no seeding, we could see a lot of fireworks early on.

The first three rounds will happen on 9/8, 9/9, and 9/11. The semifinal and final will both be best of 3, and their dates are not set yet.

The game will follow Ing's rules. Each player will get 3 hours with no byoyomi; if player runs out of time, they will get penalized 2 points the first two times and get 20 additional minutes and lose the game the third time.

First round:

Tao Xinran vs. Lee Donghoon (winner will play Tang Weixing)

Mi Yuting vs. Ichiriki Ryo
Li Wei vs. An Sungjoon

Ke Jie vs. Kim Jiseok
Jiang Weijie vs. Murakawa Daisuke

Xie Ke vs. Ali Jabarin
Yang Dingxin vs. Shibano Toramaru

Xie Erhao vs. Shin Jinseo
Fan Tingyu vs. Shin Minjun

Lin Lixiang vs. Kono Rin
Gu Zihao vs. Iyama Yuta

Xu Haohong vs. Byun Sangil
Dang Yifei vs. Hsu Chiayuan

Zhao Chenyu vs. Ryan Li (winner will play Park Junghwan)

Shin Jinseo got a really tough draw, with Xie/Fan/Minjun all ranked in the top 15 and then potentially Gu Zihao in the quarter. Ke Jie got no easy task either. On the other side, Mi Yuting finally got some friendly draw, and Park Junghwan has a clear path to the semifinal.

I'm watching on the AhQGo app which loads from Yike server. I expect Fox and Tygem show the games too.

Looks like Ryan just misclicked and can't undo. At least he was losing anyway.

Ali resigned already.

Mi Yuting also made a mistake of forgetting which ko he was playing.

The Japanese players are playing well. Will see if they can finish strong.

Shin advanced.

Ichiriki, Kono, and Hsu Chiayuan all won, and Murakawa Daisuke was leading but couldn't finish Jiang in the end.

From the notices on Yike I think the 3rd round is actually tomorrow (11th Sept). Makes sense to give the players a rest.

It'd be cool to have the highest ranked player from each country/region in the final 4: Shin/Ke/Ichiriki/Xu.

Park and Ke knocked out. With those two nemeses gone this is a great chance for Shin to win another title.

Tao Xinran vs. Ichiriki Ryo
Ke Jie vs. Xie Ke
Shin Jinseo vs. Gu Zihao
Xu Haohong vs. Zhao Chenyu

Ichiriki Ryo won, and a Japanese player reached the semifinal in Ing Cup for the first time since O Meien in 2000.

Semifinal matches:

Ichiriki Ryo vs. Xie Ke
Shin Jinseo vs. Zhao Chenyu

For what it's worth, I was surprised to see :w34:. It seems like it's played in a very small area. Sure, it puts some pressure on the black groups and kind of sets up the scene for the fight on the right but I feel white didn't get as much from it as he wanted to.

This is the second time Ichiriki does well in the international tournaments. Last year in the MLily cup, he was the only Japanese player to reach the 3rd round.

White 34 aims amongst other things for N15 follow up.

White should not be afraid to respond to the black ladder breaker D5 with just C4.
