Maeda's tsumego tryptic printing order

Hi,

A couple years ago I got an old copy of Maeda's 3-book(let) set of tsumego. For 1001 reasons, I've been barely able to touch It, and I just realized it's printed in Western order. Does anyone know why?

My understanding is that Japanese books that are mainly written in rows (so your eye goes left to right) tend to be laid out like Western books (turn the page on the right and continue reading on the left of the next two-page spread), while books that are mainly written in columns (so your eye goes right to left) are laid out "backwards" (turn the page on the left and continue reading on the right of the next two-page spread). My copy of Maeda (and I assume yours) is written in rows and the pages are in a Western order.
