New pages - intro and quickstart

Post by topazg »

Ok, I've added a quick navigation menu to each league page, and added the following pages:

Welcome / Intro - An introduction / sales pitch for the league - it's ethos, goals, aims, and how it goes about achieving them.
Quickstart guide and useful tips - Self explanatory really. A quick cheatsheet for what you need to remember, and how to make the most of your league experience. Hopefully very useful for the first month or two until it's second nature.

Feedback, comments, ideas and suggestions appreciated :)

Perhaps add the gametime info to the quickstart too. And add it to the room message, so I don't have to check the website before each game.

Add to the quickstart:
To see who is in your group and check the results go to "The League | Results"

And this forum should have a sticky thread with at least a link to the quickstart guide and perhaps a short explanation what ASR is.

And I meant having the timing info in the room message so I don't have to visit the homepage before each game to check the allowed time settings(I don't have a good memory for numbers).

Done.

Done (awaiting sticky-ing).

Room messages are limited to 1,000 characters, and with the current poll links we are right at that limit. It's very hard making the most efficient use of the 1,000 characters, and I suspect the timing info will have to be picked up from the rules or the quickstart guide.

The English FAQ says that new players have to "prove themselves". What does this mean?
So you've got an eye?
That don't impress me much

I have no idea :S

The FAQ was written long before I got involved - I don't think any proving themselves is required any more :P

the proving yourself is obvious i think. you have to prove yourself in the lower classes to rise up to the higher classes by winning/promoting. We still have to redo the FAQ and straighten up all the languages at some point in time but its mostly accurate in the english faq

Oh, all right. I took the text as meaning participants must pass a test or criterion of admission first and only after that they're let into the bottom layer.
