discussgo.com domain names
Almost a year ago when godiscussions.com was dying and this forum was just coming into place, I registered discussgo.com and some similar domain names in case they were needed. They're going to be expiring in a couple months - does anyone want them? Should they be set up as aliases for this forum? If they expire, I assume some dirt-bag domain name hoarder will turn them into some lame-ass spammy portal of some kind.

All due respect, dicussgo doesn't seem high on the list of keywords spammers look for.

You'd think so, but every time I've seen a domain name expired, even esoteric things, it seems like they get snapped up.

Re: discussgo.com domain names
Same situation and reasons here as well. I have two domains set to expire in three days:
goconversations.com
godiscourse.com
Let me know if you're interested.

Yeah, it was a typo when I registered it. It should have been godiscursed.com

You be surprised. Alot of people out there just sit on the dumbst names waiting for someone to buy.

Plus, most registrars these days have an "aftermarket" arm of the company. Any name that lapses in registration is transferred to aftermarket and put up for auction. The company hangs onto the name until they can resell it for more than the standard registration fee would be. The registrar only pays the few cents per year that ICANN requires for a registrar holding a domain. If you have a domain that might be useful someday, it is best to hang onto to it. As the wise woman said "If I can't sell it, I'll keep sittin' on it, before I'll give it away.
