As the title suggests it has been dead for more than a year now. I could look for an exact date but I don't care. To bring it back means I need to learn way more than I want to. The last time it was referenced on this forum was during the 10 game rule BS. I am wondering if its worth me figuring out how to resurrect it. Since some of you are AGA members and Chapter Heads, I'm getting your input. Let me know.

My first instinct was to hit "no, the aga chapter list is not dead!"

I would suggest that the thread title and the poll question at least have the same sense. It is way too easy for someone to click the opposite answer intended. Also, there's another thread in which the current database administrator is actively giving status updates about cleaning up the chapter database by removing defunct groups.

The opposite sense of this thread title and the poll question to me completely invalidates this poll. It is reduced to a comprehension test.

No, not better. The thread title and the poll question are still opposite senses. Better would be to retitle the poll "Do you think the AGA Chapter list is dead?" or to retitle the thread the exact same as the poll.

I read the poll question and voted. Allowing re-vote is a simple way to cover accidents.

In its day the Chapters List was very active and helpful to organizers. For one thing it allowed people who had questions to get answers from other chapters rather than depending on one person at the top of the hierarchy. Judging from the frustrations posted on the forums the list definitely should be resurrected.

I always liked the chapters list, and felt it was an important group to contact. More specifically, it was a targeted group. No offense, but one sees a huge range of opinions on forum sites, and sometimes they don't come from people who really have experience with an issue. When I posted to the AGA chapters list, I knew I was communicating directly with other people who also shared the burden of making a Go club exist, often against difficult odds. I also felt it was a much more appropriate venue for political discussions. The chapters vote, it is pretty much the sole benefit these days. If a board member, executive, or organizer did something that the community didn't approve of, the chapters would be the right place to deal with it. I also had the experience of posting requests for help, and having a slew of experienced organizers respond, with helpful advice.

I am able to log into the database as EITHER an individual OR as my chapter head. Surely it can't be that difficult to access that list? Our current mail lists let us access various categories of AGA membership, can't the category be defined as such? How about anyone who is able to log in in two different ways? Wouldn't that get all the chapter reps?

Thanks for asking the question (and hopefully being willing to resolve the issue).
