Lost Badly

Post by RapidRage »

I played black. I think move 17 was a mistake, but I'm not sure where I should have played. Maybe H17 or D10? All comments appreciated.

I'm not any stronger than you, so I have no guarantee that the following is any good.

The lower left corner, while locally ok, seems to really endanger your lower side 2-space extension. Maybe the invasion is premature.

On move 45, taking his shape point is only good for you if he needs to make shape. After he connects his three stones to his corner, he doesn't need it much. The hane at O4 would have given you some interesting aji.

Having to answer 48 with 49, and again with 55 can't be best play for you. There must be a better way to handle 48. Sorry, but I'm not sure what it is.

Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Move 27 at E3-F3-tenuki looks sufficient. It helps to avoid pushing white thickness right next to your group on the right.

G1 at move 64 is bogus threat. Take ko, let white capture those two stones and live in the corner with B1 after that.

Move 105 at J18 surely? At move 108 white still has G18 to look forward to.

Move 205 is extremely small. It doesn't threaten L&D status of any group. Try Q16 for local threat.
