What do you mean disallowed? There aren't really referees for Malkovich games--if the players want to say "no suggested sequences" at the outset of the game (just as they sometimes do with whether to allow joseki lookup) they certainly may.Helel wrote: @Everyone:
Posting of sequences really don't save that much time and they have the potential to cause confusion about what has been played and what's only been suggested. Are they really necessary? Would people miss them if they were disallowed?

Just change the caption of the diagram.
(EDIT: oh, I missed a page. Well at least you know no one is lying to you...)

Save time compared to what? I'm not sure I follow.Helel wrote:Posting of sequences really don't save that much time and they have the potential to cause confusion about what has been played and what's only been suggested.

What is this discussion all about?
Balmung: I meant for the captured stones to indicate the actual color of the stones captured, not the stones that each side has captured. Feel free to change it if you dislike it.

I had no idea. It seems an odd thing for the moderators to moderate.Helel wrote:What did you think I meant?
@Aphelion: Sorry, this was on-topic coming from a hidden comment, but it is probably not good to keep the discussion going in a Malkovich game.

Since Shawshank Redemption has been playing on cable recently, I associate the word "obtuse" as something more offensive than it actually is.Helel wrote:Given the clarity of mind that usually characterizes your posts I find it utterly unlikely that you didn't understand this immediately. You are obviously making yourself willfully obtuse. Why?
It isn't Helel's fault--the discussion really is relevant to an important comment that was made, as discussions naturally flow.Helel wrote:I took the relevant part out of hiding in the above post. I didn't intend to start a discussion here and I will not post more about the subject in this tread.

In Go you can't follow your opponent around the board. You have to have kiai/fighting spirit/ willpower!
I view considering and accepting/rejecting your opponent's suggested sequences as a part of this.

Re: 95: Balmung (7k?) vs Aphelion (5k)
I looked through the entire game and only found one sequence that I posted:
I didn't think much about this because this is joseki and such a standard choice in this position. However, it seems that there is some unhappiness / argument about it. I would request that we go back to this position because I don't want to win a game this way.
Balmung, its to you.

I mean it's fine either way but I guess we could start from there. Okay I will post the move I wanted to play

balmung, do you have time to post your expected continuation or your thoughts?
