Hi Bonobo, I have two shinkaya boards; I don't have any kaya boards, sorry.
Also, the bottom sides of the two boards don't look particularly spectacular,
but I can still take some photos so you can decide for yourself.

I happen to have such a board (Well, it's 4-piece, so perhaps not very nice; also since the back side is the one always against table surface, there is some scratching and dirt on that side). I can try to take pictures if you want, although both my photographic skills and equipment are below par. PM if needed.

Hi Bonobo, here's the bottom side of one of the shinkaya boards. As you can see,
it's really not particularly spectacular.

Not to mention the curvature of the edges
from the lens. I doubt this is of any use to you.

Hi xiangz, I already emailed you 7 photos. I include them here in this thread, too.

Thank you nevertheless, I’ll just have to look and try whether I can make something of it, and I’ll notify you if and when I have done so

Greetings, Tom

Hi Ed, can I (try to, for now.. Getting them to work may be hard (I hope not!) use them for the tsumegos/diagrams I create for the NGA? So far I've been using jgoboard's assets (with permission to ignore the NC clause.)

I have cut 12 or 13 white stones already, and made the test with just one (since changing white stones does not need to touch the code to choose white stones... Now I'd need to add another flag to tell the program how many textures for B and for W use

) Here's the result (which is far, far nicer than before!)

Okay, wasn't that much hassle to add diff number of image handling.
This requires files black%02ds.png and same for white (that is, black01s.png, black02s.png, etc) Image with 14 whites and 3 blacks. Since in Ed's files there are way more white and black images, the final result can look somewhat better, yet. Also the black images I used could look slightly better if I corrected the black. But so far, pretty neat. Still using jgoboard's board, which is a fine looking grain.
