Code: Select all

perl -e 'print chr(ord("A") + int(rand(5)))'
This line of perl scored 114 points (about EGF 9kyu) on that test.

I guess you just have to play random moves to reach European single digit kyu. I wonder what the fuzz about playing games and doing tsumego is all about.

On KGS at least I know how to find your sgf files :)

Here are some comments on your (unfinished) game, just to give some ideas.

Hi TheCatLver,

1. On KGS, click the menu item: User > Edit Personal Information
This opens a window on your personal info:

2. Click the Games tab to see all your games.
3. Right-click on a particular game to open it, or save it to your computer, etc.

4. After you have obtained your SGF, you can post it here. :)

Please feel free to ask more questions. :)

Hi TheCatLver,

You're using the current browser version. To save, you have to use the stand-alone, installed version.

(Hopefully, in the future, the new browser version will support save.)

It says I have security blocking the download, still figuring out how to un-block it.

All of your games are online here:

http://www.gokgs.com/gameArchives.jsp?user=thecatlver

just click the "yes" under "viewable?".

Or alternatively you can right click on the yes, and then click "copy link location", and you'll get a url like this:

http://files.gokgs.com/games/2014/6/1/B ... atlver.sgf

If you then put sgf tags around it you'll get:

In that game, there are really few stones on the third line and below, by move 50, only 2 stones for white and one for black...

(June 5th, 2014)

So after a few days, I finally figured out about 89% of how KGS work. Which is neat. I've also realized that it's really hard to get a game since no one care about a 23k(ranked, yay, but weak, mehh). Even that stupid 20k weakbot doesn't want to play me, *haiz* :-?

So I guess it' back to the book for me for now, I'll surface again when I climb into what is seemingly minimum requirement to play human wall of "teens kyu" (aka 19k+) and such.

=======================================================================================================

I played several games since the last time I posted, all bots. Since, as mentioned aboved, no dignify human would ever bother with 20's ranked low-life. And now even the bots don't want to play me......

Wow, I'm hitting a slump already and I haven't even play for that long yet.

Depending on the rank range it can take quite some time to find games, maybe widening that a bit will help you getting opponents through automatch a lot faster.

Why not forget about ratings right now and just say that you are a beginner and ask if someone will play you a teaching game? (Which would be unrated, OC.) It should not be too hard to get takers. After all, everybody was a beginner at one time. :)
