4-4: I'm an individual, just like everyone else
3-4: I am both competent and unimaginative
3-3: I am a pillbug, curled up in a ball
3-5: I like to mix it up
4-5: Fight me! Fight me!
5-5: I still refuse to accept that the shinfuseki thing has had its day
10-10: I'm gonna pick fights in every corner because all the ladders work for me
Elsewhere: I wear hand-knitted sweaters and broken thick-rimmed glasses repaired with tape

Man, I really would like to see something like this in real live, a guy opens 4-4 and half of the spectators start shouting "boooring"

Nah, more likely:
5-4 --> I am uncomfortable in the opening, let us play something you don't know either.
2-2 --> I am a pretentious, little

with way too much sparetime.
5-5 --> I am Hikaru.
Most copy-paste whole board openings --> I have seen this in a professional game.
No feelings for 3-3, 3-4, 4-4 here.

This.

4-4: Someone who is too lazy to learn 3-4 joseki or who learned the game recently (as in the last 20-30 years)
And this is why I play 4-4
Also:
5-3 or 5-4: "Look, I learned this cool joseki today.:
4-4 and then 3-4: "Chinese is the only fuseki I know."

Hi illluck, Sure you don't (

3-3 - I'm a sandbagger and am about to stomp all over you, puny kyu player. I'm not sure why but it seems to be the sandbaggers choice, perhaps inviting an early contact play, at least that's been my experience lately.

4-4: Go is a complex game, let's try to keep it simple in the beginning
3-4: I've studied all joseki and will punish every mistake
3-5: I'm a fancy fellow.
4-5: I like influence
3-3: You know, I'm not as dumb as I look / With all those invaders, I might as well jump to it.
10-10: I heard about the big wall.
anywhere else: I'm going to let you think you should win because I play stupid in the opening and then I'll exploit that psychological advantage

16-16: I'm left handed and I hate you.
1-1: This is like Reversi, right?

Since earlier posts in this thread have informed me that I'm a hipster:
Anything you play: I was playing that before it was cool.

Not sure what I feel about others playing certain moves, but here is what I mood i am in when I play the stuff i play. Some of it depends on what the other guy plays, but still, the mood is there.
The usual stuff:
44 + 44: (parallel) i don't care about fancy fuseki, lets keep it simple and see who has better overall feel and depth (my main weapon recently)
34 + 34: (rotating) i wish to play conservatively, usually solid steady slow game, i'll do my best
34 + 33: i feel conservative and solid today, will try very territorial game
33 + 33: i am in the mood to crush you, lets see if i can, lets make it quick
45 + 45, or
35 + 35, or
35 + 45: i feel like something interesting and special today, can easily transpose to 34 + 34, similar feel just less conservative
Crazy styles, fast and dirty:
55 + 55: i am drunk and/or want to play something fast, crazy, but fascinating
no corner moves, just kakari after kakari, sometimes even kosumi kakari: i am stronger than you, treat it as a handicap and don't whine when you lose
Seldom played stuff:
34 + 44: (chinese) i really really want to master this, but keep failing, so help me learn
34 + 34: (mukai) i knew a guy who was constantly beating me with that, lets see how you fare
And that's pretty much my repertoire these days.
What I find boring (in myself and others):
san-ren-sei: i played it a lot as 1k/1d, then i got over it
tengen: silly silly move, but also tricky
diagonal fuseki (any kind): no dreams
any kinds of unconventional fuseki: usually those are so married to one specific idea, either you know it or not, they lack flexibility

I used to get feelings about opening moves.
Now I don't anymore. I always play 44 and 44 so I guess I'm boring too.
