Life In 19x19

Tygem is my favorite server for playing, doing go problems, and betting. KGS is my favorite server for chatting and watching games... I don't really use other servers that much.

Pretty vanilla for me. Just KGS and DGS. And I spend much more time on KGS watching than playing (mainly just trying to remove my ? when it crops up every 3-4 months or so).

I almost elusively play on KGS.

I have an IGS account that i sometimes use to watch games on my phone (but rarely play)
I also have accounts on most other servers that are mentioned, but after trying them out I ended back on KGS every time.

I've signed up on DGS and KGS. Right now I have 5 games running on DGS and with my schedule the turn based system is working out for me right now. I have fun trying to carve out the time for a real time game on KGS but I do watch matches when I can.

I used to play on KGS a lot but the incessant puerile chatter in the room window and in games drove me away. Now I maybe play one game every three months on there. I usually have a few games going on DGS and on the rare occasion when I have time for a real time game I go to CyberORO (I still cannot think of it as WBaduk).

Nice write-up. I've been curious about some of the other servers, and that helps.

I'm honestly very surprised at the low amount that are on Tygem/TOM. In my opinion, this is the best place to observe(pro games, top games, etc) and play go if you are being serious about getting stronger. KGS is definitely lower ranked because of the fact that the population of the server is just so minor in comparison to Tygem/TOM. Also, let's not forget that there is no such thing as a daily 9d game on KGS. This fact frustrates me a lot. The only thing you need to learn for Tygem/TOM is a few of the buttons involved, but that is honestly not so tough if you play often there.

Why do you need a daily 9d game? Are you 8d?

I live in a closed loop that begins and ends with KGS.

Why do I need to be 8d to enjoy a game? Do I watch professional basketball, even though I am not a basketball player? Yes. Do I watch a professional tennis match when I am a below average tennis player? Yes. In the same sense, do I watch Starcraft 2 games even though I've only played starcraft a total of three times? Yes. Do I watch starcraft tournaments in Korean even though I do not understand enough to have any idea of what they are saying? Yes. Yes I do. I don't think you need justification for enjoying the things you enjoy.

I'm not too sure if that comment somehow insults you, and I'm not too sure why it would.

As for kibitzers being a possible reason why you quit KGS, I am not involved in that. Please do not take out your anger on me. I am sorry things turned out that for you. I really am. I do not overstep my bounds on what I say in kibitz. I do not insult players, and I definitely do enjoy a good game between players who seem to know how to play the game at a more advanced level than I.

Husky + HD are amazingggggg .

I'm a Wbaduk user, i like the interface, i always have request for a game, it has some problems to resolve if you're interested and streams professional games.

just kgs for me, tried to get an account with igs but i fail at life....i hear kgs is better anyways
