Japanese 10 mm glass stones are higher quality than the Korean ones --
more uniform thickness and shape. I bought from Kiseido.

Can you post a picture of your 10 mm Japanese glass stones?

Clay to the left, SC Yunzi in the middle, and DC Yunzi to the right.

All of these are fairly smooth and I fail to see how they could hurt, but then there are different kinds of both clay and Yunzi...

Yunzi feels dry and harsh initially but after a few games it either picks up the oil from your hands or they wear each other down or something and it starts feeling like slightly textured glass. Just play a few games. Adding oil manually might help, I haven't tried it. I wouldn't use very much.

Yunzi improve with age/use, IMO.

Edlee thanks a lot for those pictures.

thanks everyone, I'm going to buy 10 mm glass stones at the end of the year hopefully. Glass is smooth and cool, never like the matte coarse feel.

Just wash and oil the Yunzi stones and they'll be better quality than any new glass stones you're planning to buy. Plus sewing machine oil is only like $2 at any crafts store.
