I was expecting a move a week would be likely, and 2 a week hopeful ;)

I agree - I think captain's should be able to nominate a captain from one of the other three until his return, and the captain can continue with just two soldiers in the case of a soldier's absence.

I'm interested, and I guess I'm 2-3d kgs? I'm really not sure how strong I am.

I'm not really attached to this idea. It seemed mildly amusing when I was half awake this morning. I'm all for doing it in Topazg's suggested manner.

But what do we do with four 1Dans? Co-captains?

Sounds really cool, but some possible issues:

This is a LOT of work for the captains.

Also, for each move in the game, we have to wait for FOUR people to post. This could take a while...

Since we have ten+ people already, perhaps we should consider splitting this into two separate games?

I hope so, I'm happy with a game like this taking 6 months +, what I'm hoping to avoid is people just nominating a move and saying something like "I'd play a contact play now" without any explanation!

---

And, we have enough for two games now (number after rank is Malkovich games currently playing in)

Captains:

topazg (1d) - 0
JoazBanbeck (1d) - 3
gaius (1d) - 0
quantumf (1d) - 0
Shaddy (3d) - 2

Soldiers:

jedo (2k) - 0
redundant (2k) - 1
Ben (3k) - 0
fwiffo (4k) - 0
Chew (4k) - 1
tj86430 (7k) - 0
Jordus (9k) - 0

So, I'd like to be a captain (just because it makes sense to be in the pilot), and don't mind my opposing number being any of the others. I'd personally choose to give preference to those who are not currently in another Malkovich game, but I haven't been keeping track of those, so could people say how many they are already in (including BB games and batookovich games)?

I'm 2, not 3. Big brother #2 has died, so I'm only playing BB#1 and a game against Araban.

But the whole issue is moot if we can invite someone in the 3D-5D range to be opposite Shaddy, then all the 1Ds become soldiers.

EDIT: Wait a sec...why does there have to be two teams? We could all be one big team, Shaddy would be captain, and we challenge Magicwand 5D.
It is an interesting question whether a gang of 1Dans and lower could beat a 5D.

Sure, but then that's not really the original proposal any more, it's a different game :P

It is the same game, but just half of it; and it proceeds faster, I think. BTW, it doesn't have to be Shaddy, I'm sure you'ld make a fine captain.

My game with loons seems to be dead, so all i've got is the danovitch and that's just posting moves and answering questions.

Hehe, don't worry, I didn't take it that way :)

Actually, I'm less worried about proceeding faster and more interested in content quality. I'm happy for unbalanced teams and unbalanced captains with a game that favours one team over the other if that's what happens, as long as each participant puts some soul and effort into each move!

I've been maybe too distracting with my suggestions. This is your show. Set it up however you wish, I'll go along.

Will get this up and running this week hopefully :)
