First DrStraw merges his four identities DrStraw, DrStraw's book sales, Sakata, Iamnotwhoyouthinkiam.
Now sol is splitting personalities posting as both Sol.ch and Araban.

I think I need to lie down...

That's great news. But I assume that everyone has to have the same names here as on GD for this to work, correct?

Looking at mine, it says GD posts: 0, so it's obviously not working...

I've figured it out: you're Dr Straw too. That explains a lot...

The GD posts thing is not automatic. its just a field for you to manually put it in if you wanted to.

As far as the GD database, the plan is to implement it as a read only archive. this prevents any issues coming form usernames and such.
I'm thinking...

Just to clear any misconceptions, I didn't register Sol.ch on this forum...but I'm quite curious who did :).

It's great to see this. I know there has been a lot of people upset in recent times with the way things were being run over at GD. A big thanks go out to Don for all the work he has done, and for being willing to do all of this (archive, hand over the domain). Like has been said before, he helped establish a thriving community, and now is helping it along in what way he can.

Thanks Don.

Talked about in the above link. Some people were wanting some nostalgia about old post counts, so they were obliged with a way to display it. :D

Nice work.

looks like this is one of the best possible outcomes for both forums.
I hope the integration goes smooth.
Keep up the good work people.

You should take the domain and adopt it - no question. You could still use lifein19x19 as the domain for your larger project, and have godiscussions point directly to the forum.

It's a good domain, and it has a long history, many people who are (blissfully) unaware of the drama of the last month will go there as a matter of course.

What a happy ending!
