Yes, SmartGo Kifu is designed specifically for the iPad, while SmartGo Pro is for the iPhone and iPod touch. They share much of the same code, but SmartGo Kifu has more pro games (33000 vs 22000), the ability to set up positions and mark points, and much better book view.

When I originally created SmartGo Kifu, I expected Kifu and Pro to diverge more than they have so far. It's possible that I might be able to turn SmartGo Kifu into a universal app at some point.

No announcement of the new windows version (smartgo3)?

Since 2008 the website says (at http://www.smartgo.com/en/faqs.htm#q2)

What is SmartGo's upgrade policy?

Your purchase of SmartGo 2 includes free upgrades to all 2.x versions. Customers purchasing SmartGo after April 1, 2007 will also get a free upgrade to version 3.0, whenever that gets released. ..

Still waiting on the new version.

I have been using smartgo books on my iPad for a while. I just put it on my iPhone but the books I have already purchased did not show up on my phone. Do I have to buy them again to get them on my phone? Thanks!

You can download them again for free. Go to "Store" and then the settings icon (a wrench) and then "restore previous purchases."
