Basic shape -- you want to get to the point where you don't need to read it, and just know it by sight. :)

Because I thought W couldn't connect when I looked at it. :)

Eh, useful to see these horrendous flaws in my thinking pointed out though!

thank you, however, what would "scare" me from connecting, is (and maybe this is one of those things you hear around Go boards but isn't true) that when you connect you make the opponents stone stronger, IF your stone is not strong. I would be afraid to attack before building myself up.
