Well, NAND is where Apple makes most of the money off an iPad:

I haven't followed those estimates recently, but in the past, teardowns were known for being completely inconsistent with Apple's reported margins. Any reason to believe these?

Not at all, but I can believe that it's the cheaper part, comparing price differences

I hate their business model. NAND is so cheap they should just give us 16gb for $500 and 128gb for $600

Buy a tablet that lets you put in MicroSD. They're not hard to find.

Well for go study the iPad has no competition, the problem is the price premium and whether you're willing to stump up the extra cash.
That said, an iPad is in no way a necessary component of a training system. So it's a luxury at best, a frivolous one at worst.

I've got an android tab. I like it a lot and play go a bit on IGS with it. Although I prefer the android system and tend to dislike Apple as a company, I have to admit that for Go the Ipad has many more quality apps.

Perhaps he meant, "no competition worth comparing."

For studying, I would still pick Android. To each their own.

Check KGS topics here on L19. I wrote about a hundred times about how to play on KGS with iPad

. Look for AlwaysOnPC for iPad on the Appstore. It's not a cheap solution, but if you need it's there and it works. But before you spend $20 take a look at my video posted here on forum how this app looks and works. And remember that you have always free options for playing go on iPad like IGS (Panda-Tetsuki), Tygem, WBaduk, even www servers like goshrine or kaya.gs. Good luck

Here is a link to topic about KGS on iPad and AlwaysOnPc app - with my video:
