It now displays a breakdown of user rank according to categories and comparison to different servers. What feature should I add next?

Well, the komi in our NGA games depends on the rank assigned to us by the teachers. But in truth I just put there to promote NGA just a tiny bit.

There are around 100 unique users per day at the moment, most spending around 15 minutes on the site, some a lot longer.

I'm one of the latter, likely, since I'm trying to do ~ 100 positions each day. 100 visits day is quite a lot for a go site!

Its intentional, you are the first person to see the tsumego and it doesn't have a correct answer yet. The correct and uncertain answers will be based on strongest user answers, which for the time being will be you for this tsumego, until someone stronger answers it. There shouldn't be unduly many of these, and I kinda hope it rare enough that I don't actually have to code a warning for these.

OK, hoping that stronger players provide the correct answer soon thenfor this tsumego, until someone stronger answers it.
Thanks for your reply. I think I’m also one of those who use your site 15+ minutes per dayThere shouldn't be unduly many of these, and I kinda hope it rare enough that I don't actually have to code a warning for these.

Re: www.Ootakamoku.com - Modern fuseki practice.
I just finished calculating your rank based on your first 257 answers, but still working on the remaining ones. By my estimate your rank is between 10.1 Kyu and 7.5 Kyu. I can provide you a detailed breakdown of your rank.
Give me a second, I'll arrange the information for you... Here is your rank in different aspects of go.
Everything : 10.1 Kyu - 7.5 Kyu.
Fuseki : 10.0 Kyu - 7.0 Kyu.
Tsumego : 12.7 Kyu - 5.2 Kyu.
KGS 16k representing the SDK ranks. Also, has anyone noticed that the kgs board is really, really pale after being on Oootakamoku for a little while?

Re: www.Ootakamoku.com - Modern fuseki practice.
Likely bug report: in what seems to be a new feature, I get zoom-in in tsumego. But clicking on a spot gets detected somewhere else (iPad, mobile safari). See attachment, I clicked the kosumi more or less, in the middle of the eye shape
Edit:bug solved, so. I removed the image

Thx for pointing it out. Fixed.
Re: www.Ootakamoku.com - Modern fuseki practice.
Has something changed with the ranking algorithm recently? I've been using this over the past few weeks (I love this site btw, it's great!) and I've completed a little over 600 problems. I had thought that after doing all of those problems it was starting to hone in on my rank as it stated I was around 12-10 Kyu which is a pretty narrow range. My rank has been around there for a while in ootakamoku, even yesterday when I probably did 80 or so problems.
Today I started doing some problems, and it appears what ever certainty it had about my ranking has been thrown out the window. As I've done some problems today it was showing my rank as 15.5 Kyu and 4.2 Kyu (larger range) and as I completed more it was showing 10.5 Kyu and 4.3 Dan (still a large range).
Just wondering what would have caused something like that. I originally thought maybe I just wasn't logged in which would make sense for the uncertainty of the ranking, but I checked and I am logged in at the top and it is showing the correct number of problems I have completed.
On a complete side note, have you thought about adding a page that would display the leader board of all the users ranks using ootakamoku? It appears you already have all of the data, you would just need to build a view to support it. I would think the leader board could be restricted to only show users that have completed 200+ problems to make it more accurate. Just a thought.
Thanks.

Re: www.Ootakamoku.com - Modern fuseki practice.
Yes, something changed, tweaking it over the next few days some more. Ranks might fluctuate quite a bit during that time.tamathps wrote:Has something changed with the ranking algorithm recently?
I have considered doing it yes, but there are some privacy concerns involved.tamathps wrote:n a complete side note, have you thought about adding a page that would display the leader board of all the users ranks using ootakamoku?
