@observers and BLACK:
I'm seeing a lot of white chatter. My guess is that they are conflicted about how to deal with the problem of our stone at F16. In my opinion, it is a major roadblock in their development plans, and most of the chatter is about how to deal with it.

I further guess is that they are arguing between attacking it immediately or building strength to the west first and then coming back to attack it.

This is the continuation that worries me the most, but I think it's still playable.

With the cut in your last diagram, if white follows up with 3-3 it seems like a straightforward transposition from there, where black cuts and white crosscuts. We could also consider a descent to C16 or D17.


I do feel that the 3-3 immediately may be simpler than the attachment, though, since there are fewer groups to worry about. The attachment would require a lot of life and death reading in the corner, which seems easier to screw up to me. I certainly don't want to trade away the corner, also, as I feel giving it to black would unbalance the game if there's only a complex fight in exchange. Variations where black dives in directly I'm a bit more comfortable with, as I feel there's less aji.

from this I am leaning towards the 33, but I think either one works. If it's up to me that's what I would play.

Let's play E14. White can't cut at F15 bacause the ladder works for us. If White tries to cut at E15 we can answer at F14 and go for the variations Joaz suggested. Or we can answer at F15.

I suspect that E14 will do, but I'm not so sure. On my previous post, I showed six diagrams, but still concluded that it was speculative.
