i just finished my game with quantumf. opening was balanced, then black tried a little overambitious attack on the lower side, which allowed me to eat some stones, he got influence as a partial compensation but then i managed to neutralise his reduction play and got a comfortable lead, so quantumf resigned
thank you for the game, good luck for the next round

Looks like we missed. It's winter time there, so 8pm CET. It looks like you're still in EDT, so 8pm CET => 3pm for you.
Sorry if you were there last hour and were waiting

I'm waiting now, but will leave in half an hour or so if you don't come.

lindentree and I will be playing on Sat, Nov 5th at 10PM EST (which is Sunday, Nov 6th 10AM for lindentree, I believe).
Gotta win, and Kirby has to win, so we can have our tournament rematch, right? (Maybe we won't be paired together, but it's possible ...)

Dusk Eagle and I played an interesting game, I was fortunate enough to make life in a corner where I probably shouldn't have, so me+10.5.
I'm curious to hear opinions for where white 10, 40, and 44 should play, if you have one...

19: @DE: why not Q14? By 21, you're overconcentrated.
40 Black E6 looks strong. I'd play D6. It is the textbook threat if he ignores the pincer.
44: This seems the wrong direction. Black plays the natural P9

, and suddenly Q6 is looking worthless. I would either support Q6 by playing P4, and as you build strength in the lower side R10 will become stranded. Or I might play the safer F3.
67: Burning a ko threat here.

Kirby will have to show up first. His profile says "Last visited: Mon Oct 03, 2011", and he hasn't responded to my message about our tournament game yet. Does anyone know another way of contacting him?

20: TTBOMK, current theory is that this is too small to be played immediately. If the pincer were at K4 or K3, then you should do it now. Best is probably D6 - it works very well with your stones over on the right.
22: Just a tad passive. You could play P10 instead, and go for large scale territory. Not only is it territorial, but it prepares moves like P12 if you are feeling conservative or R14 if you are feeling like taking some risks.
23: Seems premature. How about D6 instead? Or D12? or tengen?
36: This feels like the preparation for creating two weak groups - which is, of course, a classic bad idea. The left side is rather unsettled. E15 is interesting here.
42: When we say that you should not create two weak groups, it does not mean that three is ok.
45: Maybe the solid extension D16 is better. White has too many weak groups. If you create some weak ones yourself, the future is chaotic. But if you stay strong, one of his will die.
51: Ugly shape. There is way too much aji for white at C7 and B5. If you want to strengthen yourself here, just play the honte move at C5, or at least a solid move at B6.
52: Good move.
58: You can see that he can play G15, right? You have more than 1/2 hour left. Use it to read at least a few moves ahead.
Atari at F14 first, he replies, then you lock him in with F15.
60: Nooooo!
It is dinnertime. Gotta go.

But if Kirby is still in Michigan, he will just have transitioned to Eastern Daylight Savings Time earlier that morning. I think he will be an hour late for your game.
