Yes!! Got the time off from work and it's a Father's Day gift from the wife. As a beginner what have I gotten myself into?

I can't afford the ridiculous price of congress. Closest it will ever be to me, though. I'm in pueblo. It's a real shame.

I am going - and I'll be looking for as many self-paired games as I can get.

So, if there is anyone else in the same boat - feel free to PM me.

(Since last year's go congress I have managed ZERO AGA rated games. I appear to be the only person from Nevada with an AGA rated game more recent than 2007. Ugh.)

I would like to go but the whole cost of the rooms is what killed my visit possibilities.

Have you considered that if you drive to and from the congress each day, and if you pack a sack lunch, then the total cost is $325 (plus gas)?

And that's exactly what I'll be doing. I'll have the cooler stuffed with snacks, sandwiches, and sodas to get me through the day.

Well originally I had marked yes I was going.... but now I have chosen to pull out.... But I assure you all I have a very very very good reason.....

Which I don't have either. Or a ride back and forth everyday. Plus, I don't even know where I'd stay.

I'm open to suggestions though. I'm offering to volunteer for Congress, which takes care of the registration, if I can work that out. I can probably get a ride there. If not, I think there are some people passing through new mexico or something. Maybe I can check that out. But I don't know if anyone would be willing to let me stay with them for however many nights.

I've only been to one other congress - the one in Portland two years ago. I had a raelly great time, so I'm looking forward to this one.

sadly, I gotta change my vote from undecided, to not going

I still want to go, but I just don't see any way I can -- already spending too much money on a trip to Texas to visit family
