The magnifier seems to work fine when I'm playing a stone near the bottom. Understandably, the issue crops up when a stone is played at the top of the screen where there is no room for the magnifier there. It seems like it can't make up it's mind between left and right. So, as I'm trying to adjust my finger to either see the magnified area or if I'm still zeroing in on where I want to play the magnifier tends to jump around left to right or the reverse.

Thanks!

Request timed out means that it couldn't download the problems successfully.
If you just try again, it will probably work.

When you see the magnifier flipping back and forth, are you trying to play a stone
right in the center near the top? If you're right in the middle, moving one pixel
to the left or right will cause it to switch to the other side. I'll have to think
of something to do about this.

I'm trying to get an idea of where his problem is coming from.

grillapa, when you had the crash, had the problem set been completely unpacked?
Did the add collection screen say complete before you tried to select the set?
You shouldn't be able to leave the screen until it's done, but maybe it's possible.
Do you remember exactly what you did before the crash? Was it right when you tapped
the collection to choose it?

The import seemed to work fine, it said complete and showed up in the list of problem collections. The crash happened when i tried to enter it. I can run the program again now after reinstalling it. I tried to load Guan Zi Pu again just to make sure, and it failed this time too. I'll try to send you the crash dumps

I would still really like to see the magnifying glass fixed. I use other iphone go apps, such as SmartGo Pro, for example, without any problems.

But with this gogrinder app, whenever I click on an intersection, the magnifying glass shows up two intersections BELOW where I clicked. This happens consistently, and not just around the edges. It happens even in the center of the board. It's really annoying.

I experience the same issue.

I found and fixed a crash - I think it's the one Grillapa is seeing.
I'm ready to release the next version - added a high score feature like
the Java version, and cleaned up a bunch of bugs and minor annoyances.
The magnifier moves around smoothly now, so that's a lot nicer.

I don't think I'm seeing the magnifier issue, but I want to fix it before
doing an update. Let me make sure I understand.

When you touch the board, and the magnifier comes up, the stone in the magnifier
that you're about to play shows up too low on the board? Is that right?
So when you play the stone, it winds up where the magnifier shows it, but you have
to move up first?

What board size were you seeing this on? Does it happen on every problem,
or only sometimes?

Thanks again for your work on this.

This shows up in all sets I've tried so far, including "Basic Tsumego."
Your description seems right: When I touch the screen where I want to place the stone, the magnifier comes up, but is focused on a different spot (I think it is always lower). I then move it around to figure out where it is. When I play the stone, it goes to the spot shown in the magnifier.

This is the same as what I see. And I concur: Thanks for all of your work on this.

What OS are you seeing the problem on?
I'm running on 4.0 on an iPod Touch, and I tried it last
night on a friend's iPhone with 4.0. Neither one shows the
problem.

Can you take a picture of the issue maybe?

I'll try to take a picture. This is on a 3GS with OS version 3.1.3 I think (not 4.0).

I'm using an ipod touch, but my OS version is also 3 (3.0, 7A341). I wonder if it's due to the OS version.

Below, I've uploaded a couple of screenshots. The bottom screenshot shows the problem I want to click on. I am trying to click on the 4-4 point (the point in the corner that has a darker intersection).

As you can see, there is a white stone directly below the 4-4 point. If I click on the 4-4 point, the magnifying class should appear right on the intersection.

However, as you can see in the top image, the magnifier actually shows up slightly below the stone that's below the 4-4 point (i.e. it's a bit more than an intersection off). For larger boards, there is a greater offset in intersections.

Ugh! I was hoping it wasn't version-related, but it looks like it probably is.
Can anyone else who has GG post and tell me your OS version and whether you see the problem?

Apple makes it impossible to test on older OS versions once you have upgraded, so I
won't be able to see this myself, but if everyone with 3.x is seeing it, I guess
I could check the OS version, and just move the stone up in that case.

I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks again for your efforts!

On the most recent OS, I do not see the problem.
