Well, KGS rates me at 10k at the moment, but I beat robinz (an 8k) in an even match, so make up your own mind.

Concerning the matter of other soldiers, I sent out a PM to every ddk I know on L19. If no one answers in the next 3 days or so, maybe we could consider setting the cutoff point at 7k or something so we could get enough players (and then robinz and I wouldn’t feel so bad about being "almost" sdk .

There's no way I'm 8k - it's true that KGS was calling me that at the time we played, but I had only just crept into it, and that was due to pure random drift, as I hadn't been playing on KGS. In fact, since I hit 9k early this year, I've only played 1 rated game against someone of similar strength - which was an even game against a 9k a few days later, which I won, albeit narrowly. At the time this made me feel better about calling myself an SDK, but I've not found time to play much since, and when I have (as in the tourney) I've played in a way more befitting a 12k or something.

Still, I seem to play better the more time I feel I have to think, so I ought to be able to approximate 9k in a forum game

PS: Mnemonic, from what I've seen from playing against you and looking at other games you've posted on the forum, you're at least 10k in strength, probably 9k or perhaps even higher.

Close enough for government work but if complete accuracy is important I am a very low 11k on KGS.

I'd be willing to participate as a soldier as well. I briefly flirted with 8k on KGS but I've since had quite a losing streak and am now 9k going full-speed towards DDK.

Black:
threeve (10-9k)
SinK (11k)
lesenv (13k)

White:
robinz (10-9k)
Mnemonic (10k)
Rafa (13k)

That should be pretty balanced. If anybody disagrees with their Team members or Rank please say so.

If no one has any objections to those teams, I'll decide the captain for each by a (fair) coin toss. If it comes up heads, I'll take the team currently marked black (we might want to nigiri for the colors or something). Tails, and I'll take the white one.

Drum roll please ...

So, this means I'm captaining Mnemonic, Rafa and robinz ... you're captaining threeve sink and lesenv.
