Sure, and I promise I'm resetting my rank before I play any more games (probably to 2k, and see how that goes - I hate entering anywhere as a dan rank).karaklis wrote:Could you post an sgf plz?topazg wrote:Tygem .... is .... awesome .... so much blood!
Please set your rank to at least 1-2 dan. I have stable 2D and 3D accounts on Tygem, but I'm only 1K KGS (Though I will admit I haven't played on KGS very long).topazg wrote:Sure, and I promise I'm resetting my rank before I play any more games (probably to 2k, and see how that goes - I hate entering anywhere as a dan rank).karaklis wrote: Could you post an sgf plz?
Ok, I've reset to 1d, I hope you're rightnagano wrote:Please set your rank to at least 1-2 dan. I have stable 2D and 3D accounts on Tygem, but I'm only 1K KGS (Though I will admit I haven't played on KGS very long).
I don“t think its the ranking system, there really a lot of sandbaggers at lower levels (at least on the chinese server which was where i played the most).mayweed wrote:I've just installed the english client to try it out. That's really neat a client. But there's really a lot of sandbaggers.
I'm what we could call a weak player (15k-for-life kind of player), I really stop believe I could ever be strong, but on that server, my first two games were against a 18k who won 10 games played all against 1d-4d players and one loss against a 6d.
It's me or there's a problem with the ranking system in there?
Otherwise, a lot of bloody fun...
I don't think so.SinK wrote:Do they do a mac client?
Kind of. But on the other hand, consider that their ipad app is limited functionality. It's not the full desktop client. So there may or may not be a significant amount of *extra* work to release a mac client.SinK wrote:It would seem logical if they have an iPad version but I can't find it if they do.
I think that contrary to popular belief, almost anything can be learned. I'd even go so far as to say that I think intelligence in the traditional sense hardly exists. Here's evidence. As far as reviewing some of your games, I'll do that if you'd like.mayweed wrote:I really stop believe I could ever be strong,Rafa wrote:you can get stronger just believe in it and continue playing go you will get stronger, if you want i can go over your games and give some pointers
I realize the vast majority of mac and linux users are using wine. The option I'm using is to run windows in a vmware virtual machine (VMWare Fusion). The primary motivator for this approach is the large number of Korean websites that aren't quite right without internet explorer. As usual, there is no shortage of ways to get from point A to point B.Dusk Eagle wrote:
As for a Mac client for Tygem, I am unaware of one existing, but if you can set up Wine on your Mac then you could use Tygem just fine.
I've been hearing about, and ignoring, dual-n-back for maybe four years...nagano wrote:I'd even go so far as to say that I think intelligence in the traditional sense hardly exists. Here's evidence.
Interesting, I've found this to sometimes be true for me on KGS, but this is probably because the Asian servers are the norm for me. I definitely agree that it's good to play against all styles.Kirby wrote:When I lose on Tygem, I sometimes have moments where I say to myself, "This is so stupid. I was definitely ahead, and I just made an oversight, so he got some stones there.".
This happens to me more on Tygem than on KGS. I think playing on both servers can make you more well-rounded.
