It's reasonable, though. If you have a limited amount of resources (time, money, energy, coders, etc.), you have to decide how to best spend them. Investing a potentially substantial amount of your limited resources into something that would neither increase the happiness of a relevant percentage of your existing users/customers, nor significantly help you to attract new users/customers (based on evidence, such as expressed interest or, better, successful implementation elsewhere), isn't a very economical approach.

It's tempting to feel that you have to first offer feature X and then new people to whom feature X is of critical importance will come, even if no large number of users/customers have actually asked for it, but from experience (in social gaming and getting feature requests all the time) I can say that this is definitely not usually true.

It's a Go server... not a go variants server. It would be crazy to have all of them there.

...plus Gabriel chided me for my "well known" Internet hooliganism. This from a guy who openly scorns excellent advice from well wishers, while simultaneously seeking donations.

Gabriel's primary objective is glory. An open mind and abundant qualifications could facilitate that. But excessive hype and insufficient programming skill... As they say in Maine, "Ya cont get theyah from heyah."

Start by establishing a solid foundation and then gradually add features. Kaya was glory driven bass ackward.

Take a minute and chill down. This sort of vitriol is completely unnecessary. This forum isn't the place for personal disputes or attacks.

I have not checked Gabriel's code since I don't know enough Ruby to judge or help, but the server is working pretty well, for a beta just barely a year old, which I think is already quite a feat. Why don't you write a Redstone go server?

And you're trying to tell us that the inventor of Redstone is not aiming for glory when suggesting that Redstone be an added feature of a new go server.

The developer of a go server has every right not to accept suggestions and proposals which they don't find attractive to their own goals and objectives.

Of course if you are really interested in promoting a Redstone server, you are welcome to try to fund, hype and program your own development. Just don't expect other people to promote your project for you at their expense.

What?
Your message was edited about 2.5 hours ago. I see no registration form.
Hard to check kaya announcements when they're hidden in an old message.

Next release, can you open 50% of accounts during US time and the other 50% during day time in East Asia? Can you also advertise 1 day before you open the registration?

There's a blog for kaya but I cannot access it from China. Can you put announcement on the main page of kaya.gs and in an independant thread here?
