As someone who has known wossname for a while, both online and off, I can vouch that he will keep this campaign promise. wossname 2010!

If you want another timezone, you could ask Unkx80 if he wants the job

In the spirit of a more democratic forum, I'd like to suggest that we have a vote after the nominations are in.

A vote is the plan. So far all the nominations for admins have been pretty unanimous between about 5 names. So the vote may only be necessary for moderators.
But, if people say differently, we will vote on both. The goal of this site is to be "by the community, for the community" (yes i just quoted abe lincoln...in a way)
I'll configure a poll soon for moderators. But, first, we need to decide how many moderators we want to have out there. After that the poll goes up and every name mentioned.

I'm on the west coast, and tend to stay up late, so I'm GMT -8 or -9. Fwiffo is east coast( -5) , and I think that Kirby is central(-6). KirkMc is something around +1 or +2. That seems rather well distributed.
Yes, I'm in France; GMT +1. I work at home, and can visit the forum often, and I'd be happy to be a moderator.
I would like to vote against kirkmc. See below for the slur he made following my post on rec.games.go (25/09/09):-

That's the solution: steal it instead.
Is that how you get all your media?

If anyone else feels this way, I'm very happy volunteering to moderate, though I don't have the time to do justice to an admin role - not that it looks like we need any more of those

You're my first choice, topazg. If you need a campaign manager, let me know. We'll crush the opposition into tiny bits

topazg gets my vote also. An excellent choice. Calm, rational and polite

Hallo Richard, good to see you on here

I certainly think for each moderator option, there should be the ability to vote positively or negatively (or not at all) for each candidate. Negative votes can offer more insights than positive ones for potential moderators in my experience.

javaness seems to have migrated. If he is willing, I'd recommend asking him. He has done well with the late GD.

You consider a "slur" the fact that I suggested that stealing content is bad? Geez...

Please can we not let important threads turn into sidetracked flamewars. People who haven't been following rgg won't understand the context or full story on this, and regurgitating personal attacks is unlikely to be productive.

There was a clear suggestion that I "stole" to get all my media. That was the slur.
For a moderator one needs someone who will act to calm things down - rather than fan the flames !
It is for this very reason that I would rule myself out also

At the present time, I would turn down this offer. I might reconsider if you ask me again half a year later.

Yes, I have a negative vote or two that I didn't want to express in public.
Qualifications for mediators should be considered too. These are biggies...
