If I'm acceptable opponent, set the game up and tell whether you want open or closed book.

Regarding handicap: I'm 1d KGS, 3k OGS, make of that what you will. Pick whatever handi+komi you think is fair and/or interesting.

Game's up.

Since my current game doesn't seem to be progressing, I'd be interested in starting a new one.

Preferably even game, but handicap is also possible. I'm officially 7k, although I haven't played much (read: at all) recently.

Preferably open book.

There may be periods when I can't devote my time to the game, so sometimes it may take a while before I make my move.

Hello everyone, I'd like to try my hand at Malkovich. I'm 1k on KGS, but probably more like a 1d in strength. I'm bad at Handicap games and prefer more or less even games. Anyone feel free to challenge :)

@OtakuViking
I challenge you :rambo: ! An even game should be fine, and I don't mind about open/closed book. I'll let you create the thread if you accept :)

Hi everyone!

The Alakazam is back! I have posted a new introduction/"I've come back" statement in the Introductions forum.

I won't start up a Malkovich game until classes end in the beginning of April, but after that I wouldn't mind playing one with someone!

I don't mind playing a lower level player, and I don't really want to play a handicap Malkovich game. I find handicap games significantly less fun, and even with my level and experience I don't really know how to go about them. I think any success of mine in them stems from my ample understanding of the thoughts that go through the heads of players in the Kyu and lower Dan levels (I remember being there myself extremely vividly, and I think my knack at reading these thoughts is part of my confidence as a teacher!).

Honestly, in the end, my strategy as white in handi-Go leveled out at: Play normal moves with occasional splashes of aggression and optimism, and just have faith in the opponent's failness.

I'm serious. My strategy, which I suppose works well enough to give me normative handicap game results, is to wait until the 100-150 move mark where black starts imploding and self-destructing.

Anyway, a handicap game seems exceptionally easy for black in an ultra-slow game style such as Malkovich, so let's keep it to Tagaisen, or maybe no komi (I feel like I remember even no-komi being a bit tough if the player was within ~1.5 stones of me, hehe).

I will accept challenges from anyone of at least 1k KGS strength, with no upper limit.

Feel free to challenge me now, but I won't be playing until early April~

Hi, I would enjoy another Malkovich game(or two). I highly prefer someone who is willing to invest time for several meaningful 'steps' a week. If you can spare about 1-2 hours a week and would like to play, please send a PM.

I would like one competitive game so someone 1k+ would be excellent. I also invite you for a teaching style game for a player of any rank.

I'm interested, but I'd probably need some handicap stones.

I don't mind giving a few stones. If you want to set it up you can give yourself the number of stones you deem appropriate. Do you prefer open or closed book?

I'll set it up later today (off to work now). I prefer open book.
