That's something I'm going to be working on soon against Terran (once I get over my cold and feel well enough to play again). That triple EMP in the first game is the stuff of nightmares, though. I'm curious how you would respond to the casters' criticisms of your play, such as their view that you waited too long to get HTs.
Thanks! I haven't watched the entire cast yet, but regarding waiting too long to get HTs I guess there's some merit to that statement since I was definitely asking myself "Okay do I get colossus and transition or just go straight to HTs?" over and over again during the game. In general, I made a lot of mistakes...nerves played a huge factor, it didn't help that NOS was sponsoring the event and I had a few of their energy drinks which, combined with my anxiety, gave me the serious jitters. I actually played my first game without sound and didn't realize I was playing without sound until the game was over

. I also learned the benefit of bringing your own keyboard and mouse, the keyboard I played on didn't make much difference but I had to use this old, small mouse that was a little strenuous to use considering I have large hands. After I finish my take home exam I'll definitely check out the cast and hear the rest of what they had to say.

I try to bring my own keyboard and mouse even if I'm just programming. I can't imagine having to use some strange input devices while trying to game at a high level.

OMG he has Street Fighter voiceovers! Ok well just the sound intro thing but still that was awesome.
I made a joke post on Reddit about this just awhile ago.

I saw someone do that to Incontrol 2 games in a row on the ladder. Incontrol saw his name, told the stream exactly what strat the T does, T did the strat, and beat Incontrol with it both games!

My tournament experience wasn't quite so good. I've no idea why but I couldn't seem to play like I can at home. My fingers felt confused and my mind kept trying to second guess itself. I lost a game I really shouldn't have after 100 terrible decisions and forgetting to make any units and didn't make it out of the first group even though I was top seed in it. The atmosphere was good though and the venue/people really nice.
Just watched the first game. That mass drop play is so frustrating. I find it really hard to know how the game is going in those types of games - even if I'm holding off the drops well I don't know how much damage I'm doing by taking them out compared to the harass damage. Going to be pretty hard after those emp's

the second and third were almost unnecessary. Even if you only lose just the forcefeilds or just the storms or just the sheilds it would still be nasty.
You and your proxy robos.. ^^ That second game was always going to be pretty tough after it got scouted. I'm not sure how much your economy was sacraficed for it but losing it alone that early is pretty big. Overall though pretty balla stuff. Really good drop play defence. Seemed like you split your armies with the exact right amount each time.
From the commentary on game 1:
[I don't know much about the players...]
"But they definitely have to be pretty good to start advancing to the round of 16 ... and I hear sterling is pretty good..."

Haha, yeah I was glad I got paired against Sterling over the other big leaguers. He's a very friendly guy and after the game/before the interview we had a great discussion over our games and he gave me a few pointers. Even asked meif it was okay for him to play on his laptop, ridiculously polite. In contrast, KawaiiRice seemed very cold and distant from everyone who wasn't top 100, and RaNgeD was pretty quiet while he was Korean 4-gating/4-gating his PvPs =__=. I should have just played normally in g2; like in Go, if I was playing against Lee Changho I should, as hard as it'd be, try to play the board and not the opponent.

Who is taking all the cool SC2 fan names on KGS? Many of them are some strong player... I'm looking at you Araban!

I'm especially disappointed I didn't think to get MarineKing early on, I'm a fan and I still believe he could make Marines counter anything!
FruitDealR
MarineKing

IdrA
Jinro
Looks like Nestea is the only GSL winner not taken yet. I have a lot of respect for him but I don't feel like a fan of his so someone grab that quick.

ETA: Ok I finally thought of a SC2 name I can be proud of -- Tastosis! Pic uploaded and waiting approval.

Hahaha, wow I actually didn't know of this. And while I've created tons of smurf accounts on KGS in the past, none of those are mine (none are even SC2-related)

...well, except for Nuke I guess.

You know, I had actually wondered if that's why you named it that. =)

When I first saw that account on KGS he was playing another TL go player, so I suspected that it's the real Jinro(he used to play go before switching to poker). But when I asked FrozenArbiter on IRC he said that he had that account a few years ago but isn't the one currently using it.

Anyone interested in custom
Starcraft keys for their keyboard? We need to get a fair number of interested parties to make it cost effective.

Which keyboards would the keys be compatible with? I have a 7g, and if it'd work on it, then I'd be interested (Brotoss of course

).

They will be for Cherry MX switches, which includes your 7g and several other Steelseries keyboards, Filco, Leopold, Razer Black Widow, the Rosewill RK-9000, other Costar boards, Das Keyboard, and most other Mechanical keyboards.

Excellent, I'll put an order down for 2 keys then (should those interested from L19 need to be sign up for that forum and post there?).

Eventually, yes. There's a huge group buy of custom keycaps going on right now and there's a primitive order system that works through the forum's PM system. The SC2 keycaps are not finalized and in the system yet, but eventually that's how it's gonna go. That's also the way we'll count commitments to make sure we have enough orders to make the per-keycap price affordable. I think the minimum number is 25 per design. You'll also want an account there if you want to argue about the art or colors or anything.
